Who in the heck can help me with this issue......

I keep trying to use ANY random skill such as hiding/spirit speak etc and I always am getting the message "you must wait a few minutes to use another skill"

I haven't used any skill at all in the past freaking year!!!!! (been bugged that long) I have tried removing ALL of my macros, start the game without uoassist, uninstalling/reinstalling uo THREE TIMES, I have paged gm's 7 times over the past 2 weeks, called india, reported it as a bug once a week since the beginning of 2009 and the issue is still not resolved..........

Its only this one character. All of my other characters are fine.

I'm getting so freaking tired of being canned, ignored and not able to use my character to its fullest capability for the past freakin year......does anyone know what I can do other than deleting the character???

1) try to make a world map - if that doesn't unstick it then try to make another one

2) use the honor virtue

those were the 2 ways to get "stuck" a while ago so that's what you use to unstick it - it's a toggle

I have that problem too on occasion. Dieing helps, going through a moongate, fully logging off the character such as in an inn, house, etc.

Edit: Other things I do includes using items such as drinking ale, water, opening books. Don't always help but some ideas.

I had that problem a couple years ago. When a GM came to fix it (no, really!) he said that a character can become bugged like this if the client is shut down with a crafting menu still up.

As far as I know the problem has been fixed so it won't happen to any current characters. But if your character has been bugged for that long it might be that old issue.

I have found that on occasion when I get that message it generally meant I was unsuccessful in casting some spell and I need to do it successfully.... as in I tried to use the shadow jump and targeted a spot that was not acceptable... generally I think recasting the spell worked for me. Then I was able to stealth and hide or whatever again.

Often I found that casting a successful spell or something broke the bug.

I think it is trying to finish some unfinished spell or something and so it thinks your still casting.

Soulstone those skills off and back on? (logging out/in before putting them back on)?

What do the paged gm's say?
What do the responses from the bug reports say?

Check all of your macros/quick keys. Sometimes one of these can get you *stuck* in the middle of a process, making it impossible to use another skill.

I get that message all the time when I use the depress mouse wheel as the assigned key in my macro. Evidently every time I click, two clicks are generated. I use the mouse wheel for healing and get the message "you are already casting a spell" . Evidently the healing spell is cast two times right together. The first time heals me, the second time generates the already casting message. Perhaps you are using the mouse wheel switch for your training?

My mouse wheel button does the exact same thing. I have it set to cast invis.

ok this might be a dumb question..... is this a new character?

If so, there is a very very small bug with character making I know of that will do this. It's totaly random and there is no hope to fix it. The GM's of the day tried everything in the book and even somethings that wernt. In the end the GM told the poor lady to delete that character he would hold her house in trust and trade it to the new or an exsisting account character.( yes thats how old this bug is) It still happens.

I just experienced this bug tonight. I couldn't use any (I mean ANY) skill.
I tried moon gating, dying, honor.. all of it to no avail.

However... I remembered the last skill used was meditation so I stoned it and suddenly I was functional again. I put meditation back on and I remained functional. (Yay!)

I hope this helps the OP. I have not seen any update so perhaps his problem has already been resolved. (I hope)

Tina Small mentioned the perfect fix when I posted my experience with this lil but very persistent bug, Make a spoon or a knife using the tinkering skill. ZERO tinkering is required.

I had this happen to me tonight. Had been making potions and scribing scrolls on Siege to finish training alchemy and inscription. Couldn't meditate, hide, use detect hidden, etc. I tried making something with tinkering skill. Stoned off meditation, closed client, put it back on again. Honored self. Nothing seemed to help.

I paged for help at 9:13 pm and within about 15 minutes, GM Akemai was talking to me in GM chat. He explained that it looked like my meditation skill got stuck "on," and went on to say that it's not something I could have prevented. He removed the stuck skill and after that I was able to meditate, hide, and use detect hidden properly.
