FYI, there were 182 items on sale for every platform. I know from my own experience, the ultima-registration site was clocking like mad yesterday - but it was a big sale with alot of traffic.
You will get these sales emailed to you if you enable the contact me for special offers on the ultima-registration website, or more reliably - create an EA master account on the EA site, turning on the contact me for special offers.
They run alot of sales, probably one thing EA has actually been on the ball with for the last year or two.

Sort of in their defense, they put a 182 items on sale. The previous SA sale a couple of weeks ago, they had dozens as well.
The people who decide on the sale probably just go down a list ticking off which games to put on sale. It wouldn't surprise me if the UO and Camelot devs find out about the sale at the same time that we do.
It would be good of them to post a link on UOHerald once they notice the link.
Personally I think that once the graphics and new player stuff is done, they ought to upgrade all accounts to Stygian Abyss or drop the price on it (and High Seas) to like $10 a piece.
I, like many others, have the "contact me" stuff turned on, but only rarely get an email, and certainly didn't get an email for this sale. When I went to the site, like many others, (and even though I live in the US, where this sale was supposed to be valid) I didn't see the sale prices, no matter which of the links people published I followed, or even using the search features on the EA Store website.
So no, EA is not on the ball. This was just another EA Store Fail Sale.
EA is not trying to hide anything. If you are signed up for their store emails you will get the notice.
It is important to note that being on the UO offer contact list is not the same as the general EA store mailing list.
i know, i refuse to pay 15 for this update.. but 9 is not bad.
the website tho never reflected the sale price and when i emailed they sent an email back saying it was only on sale for that one day.. i dont even think they read my email.

I had a similar experience when I emailed them. The support monkeys don't know how to read English. They just look for one or two keywords and then enter a canned response.
They only have one employee. His name is Peggy.

I think Peggy is the person that I spoke to.....lol. I could hear all his buddies laughing in the background when I told him that the only price I ever saw was 14.99. Offer the 8.99 sale to a few lucky people and laugh at the rest that can't access it. Great days entertainment for them.
