New Maginica Planting… am I missing something?

Ok… I’m not new at the art of growing plants, but this new system is new to me and everyone. I thought it was actually a cool idea we could help garden the New Maginica city. I think they should have set a limit to what kind of plants should be able to be planted… the public moongate area looks like a car full of clowns blew up for all the ugly colors.

I found a quiet corner, by one of the intersections… and I was making a nice cute little plant display. My first plant matured today… and I saw no other way to lock the plant’s growth… and it popped out of the ground. This is not what I wanted.

My question is:

To keep plants in Maginica… do you have to keep them live and growing the whole time, for the rest of time… every day, potions and water… for ever and ever? There is no way to keep them part of the landscape?

If this is true… I have to say to our designers… another great disappointment.

I love decorating my houses with very lavish gardens, no crazy plants, no crazy colors… I have zero interest in having my name mark the plants. I like the idea they look wild, as if they are part of “nature”. I really don’t see the point of players wasting time and resources in this area of the publish without the option of keeping them part of the landscape WITH the donor’s name on them. That’s what I was thinking.

The reason I think behind this is so everyone will have a chance to plant
flowers etc....instead of a few. Which makes sense.
I understand what you are saying, but think about the people that have not
had a chance to plant yet.
I also think they will only last so long before they go poof, so you might
want to pick them.

I'm hoping they will change this as time goes. I accidently "picked" my plant when I thought it would just lock the growth.
But i cant imagine watering and everything everyday forever and ever so I stopped planting for now.

I suspect if they made it permanent, you'd just complain about the permanent ugly colored plants people planted. From your post it sounds like you're asking them to make New Magincia your own personal playground, limiting it to plants and colors that you approve of. Thus this system isn't for you. It's for us players who enjoy having plants with our character's names on it.

There is a cool down of like 4 days between planting a char can do. yes you have to water and potion it forever or it dies after about 4 days. I have not successfully removed a plant and it appear in my pack. even after grown, it just dumps seed back in my pack.My disapoinment is not being able to take my named plant home to display in my home. other than that I can not complain on the plant system :thumbdown:in magencia.

Do you not set it to decorative to get the plant in your pack?

I agree. Why not limit the plants to "plain" varieties, or at least only the non "bright" colors. Wouldn't it be great to walk through Magincia and see actual plants growing, instead of odd hued blobs of colour?

Is it unreasonable to ask that if someone wants the game to look like candyland, then they should restrict it to their own house?
