Magincia Lotto IS Working as Intended.

I spent roughly 4 to 6 million gold on the lottery for Magincia, Trammel Side Only. I spent ALL my gold on every server I had gold on, I only had between 4 and 6 mil total.

I bought 10 tickets for every plot, did the one ticket buy in for each of those plots and any left over gold I had on that particular server I placed 90% of it for plot C-1 and the rest on the plot by the arcane circle.

I did this on 6 shards, I currently live on Cats but travel around for events and such. If I won more than one I planned on selling the extra and making a bit of money.

I logged in to the largest of the 6 servers I wanted, because thats the one I really wanted and worth the most. There was a little message icon in the upper right hand corner of the gameplay window, it said "1 Message". I clicked it, got the 'you have won plot C-1' message.

I was surprised because when I went to bed I had 1 in 101 chance of winning that particular plot.

I won Plot C-1. I had to sell a soulstone token in order to place it cause I put all my gold in the lottery.

It took me over an hour to place the house, I was frustrated because of all the talking (trolling) on here about it being broken. I kept getting the "You Can Not Place Housing In This Area" message.

It wouldn't fit where I thought it should go, finally I chose a spot a few tiles over at random and it placed a 15x15 plot instantly.

So as near as I can tell, it is working just fine... I was able to bid, I won, was able to place on the correct plot, and then roughly customize my house with no problems.

The ONE house I REALLY wanted, I won.

Now I just have to sell my old house on Cats and leave that depressing shard for this new one

Anyone know if we get to keep the "Writ Deed" or if it will decay in 22 days? Id like to keep it.


After my 100% by the book experience, I can only conclude that the system is working as intended and the complaints on here are sour grapes and trolling.

A friend of mine tried placing hers a few times and finally got the 15 to go.
It definitely is tricky but if a person is patient they will be able to place.

I think it's great that everything went perfectly for you, but I find it rather frustrating that those of us that did not have the same experience are apparently making it up. I won a plot and I can not place there. I'm not saying I can not fit a 15 x 15 in the spot because i can. I can drop the plot, the message comes up about if you continue any other house will be condemned...blah, blah, blah. I say okie dokie...bout a 1 second delay. Message comes up house placement can not be completed.

As to why, I do not know because gms just send a canned response with a link telling how to place a house. There are problems and I am realatively certain they will be addressed soon. I think the biggest mistake was not realizing the lotto was going happen on a Sunday and nobody was going to be home to deal with situation.

I have yet to try to place the plot I won (C-1 also on Sonoma), but I will say I think I'm extremely blessed, as I also won an Abyss house, just on one of the Korean shards (looking to unload that one BTW)...but, thats life.

Perhaps that was part of it, but it seemed to me like he was just saying if you try a couple times in different spots it works. Useful for those who are having trouble as an alternative to doing nothing while waiting for assistance.

To be succinct, no, it is not working properly. This isn't a question of being upset because I had a 95% chance of winning but lost. This sort of thing is inevitably going to happen when people think they have a sure bet. This is the nature of gambling. However, what I'm a little irritated about is that I spent 60 million, or whatever it was, then supposedly won a plot, but the deed doesn't work.

I have no doubt the lotto removed millions of gold from the economy, which many people think is a good thing. However, I don't think anyone would have participated if they didn't have some chance of winning and actually placing. If I had lost my gold by simply losing the bet, then fine, that is the nature of a wager. However, having won then not getting the reward is very frustrating. The UO team has, essentially, welched on a bet.

The Mag lottery wasn't just an attempt to draw gold out of the economy, it is supposed to be part of the game. This needs to be fixed. Though I've never bought any rubble pieces, I really feel those people who have lost rubble pieces need some remedy, as there was no reason to expect their rubble to disappear, particularly from bank boxes.
