The beach could be placed on before. Once they had plans , placement on the beach was turned off. With PUB 70, that beach area opened up again.

They are stilling giving away the number of houses they said they would and these were not designated as part of the contest hehe
If the Dev team wants to take the houses away then....okay Its a house spot, nothing to to get upset about if someone got it or if the Dev team takes it away.

Unintended from the publish, as it was blocked previously. Quite a few friends of mine have asked that very question so I asked a Dev about it, Monday they are going to debate if those houses will have to be pulled up or not similar to how people were placing in the Brit Fields in Fel during the Shadow Lord story arc.
So for now I wouldn't buy one of these plots from another player on any shard if they are offered, their status as being valid is in Limbo, especially since they are circumventing a "Gold Sink" they implemented. After all you can tell they are making the economy a serious issue since one of the devs has even started a thread on the Economy on UHall.
I was tryin to run around the fel New Magincia earlier today. I almost wished I had placed on the beach, cuz with them stupid blackrock golems are still all over, beach would a fine place (atm) to slap up an Ankh of Sacrafice to res the dead and to sell potions and bandages till the island is Homesteaded fel side, or freed of them uglies at least, anyhow ! LOL

Does it really matter? The place will be like every other npc and player town in a month. Full of crickets.
While I am inclined to be pessimistic about Magincia, there's a chance for the community to create something good from it. And the lottery nature of it means everyone will need to come together to do it. A New Magincian township would be a nice thing to see.

I ran into Mesanna today on LS, and got confirmation that those plots are safe. I know I'd seen someone spamming on other shards about selling those plots for very high amounts (500 mil+). Between people trying to sell them and having people ask if I knew when placement was reactivated I thought it best to err on the side of caution and make an inquiry for a couple of reasons.
A) Someone gets ripped off either on Chessy or on another shard they play by buying a house they'll have to take down.
B) To be able to provide information that will end debate on subject before it got out of hand. Sure some won't care about the decision the Devs made, others won't like it and others will, but at least there's official word on the subject that we can't currently dispute.

I am was happy with whatever their decision was going to be. I guess I don't have to send the email now but this was the main part of it.
