I think we're all pretty much in agreement that a little love needs to be shown their way.
What if their shard usage has been monitored and shown to be normal or above(or way lower)? Or has the team done Anything like that?
Yeah, 3 of 55 generators on their grid are fubar, and it makes it pretty rough. It was already mentioned there would be postponement, but how long do you wait?
How many shards are affected, and how extensive is it to our fellow players? A little news for the rest of us would be nice among this deafening silence (like a news blackout), but I think decisions have already been made, dates set, and now the company is done w/ involvement.

I once worked for a company like that - they issued a statement about military in the company: "we are doing all we are legally required to do", end of statement. when called Active, several ended up losing their jobs for 'explained reasons' after returning, Same mindset here?

Cal has responded, there is no mention that they would only wait 45 days and then nothing. Said they would monitor the situation and that the average player should be ok for the standard 45 days. Naturally while they are monitoring the situation and getting word from the team in Japan they will likely determine action should be taken to prevent houses from falling.

It seems very ironic that they would lose their boats, and then their house in the virtual game too as a result of the tsunami...

I mean, the OP's friend has lost his wife and house... and all they get is "you should be ok"

I smell a : is it feasible ?

I don't mean to be the naysayer here but there are some facts that need to be laid out in plain site for all to see, in this situation.

There is a very good chance that quite a few JP UO houses will never go away, if this plan is implemented. Reason being; the owner is deceased and/or never coming back to the game because they can not recover, for whatever reason. This is unfair to those paying players who are locked out of possible house plots and all that possible loot. No offence intended but that IS what the game is.

It would be ok to give, say a 90 day period...and then move on. The world moves on and so does UO.

Wrong. What Cal_Mythic said was, and I am quoting, ""discovered there is no danger for the average player in Tokyo" (my bold, italics for emphasis).

Important as it is, Tokyo is not the whole of Japan.

I personally don't understand the 45 day value, Atleast from experience my houses don't decay until around 90 days after payment ceases.

Mapper, the 45 day value is the number I quoted from Cal_Mythic's message to me.

I don't know why he gave that figure. The worrying thing is, I don't think he does either.

Fayled's mythical UHall math, perhaps?

I'm thinking:
Some will Never be able to return to UO, ever.Sadly
Some will terminate their auto-debit, indefinitely.
Some will say Our stuff (house, bank, stable, toons) is probably gone anyways, why worry about it,let's play/try something else.
Some will, someday, give it a shot and see what's left in their acct.

This may not have anything to do w/ Cal. They have their own Studio in Japan I think, and probably their art crew and Devs. I'd bet their voice is louder than Cal's and they will ultimately decide when/what/how this is handled, because it's probably Their finger on the pulse of the Asian players, not Cal's. imo
Lastly, Content, boosters, items will continue to be developed and pushed out, somewhat on schedule, the company demands it.

For that Disneyland link..., ug, a ride they never expected.
