I don't remember casca, but I think his corpse just appeared one day. As for queen dawn I don't remember, but I don't think she showed up. I certainly never heard any conversation about it.

Then again I play weird hours, so I missed all the events even when we did have them.

*edit* As was clarified on the siege board, no these events did not happen. Or more over in terms of in game history they occurred, but there were never events held.

I would also again like to mention it's not just that we haven't found someone willing to EM, but that they have actively turned down several people. But at least they said they love us on the dev video.

No thanks. Events are nice, but they don't make regular shards appealing to me.

No doubt. I really just want to know -WHY- we have no EM. If its because the population is low, fine (although lack of EM certainly wont help those numbers) but I, and the rest of us at least want to know what the deal actually is.

I don't think thats the issue. We had several EMs for several years doing game story events and thier own events.

We have asked again and again what the deal is, as to why we have no EM and EM applications for siege are being rejected. There have been at least 5 threads (probably more like 10) on Uhall dedicated to the question over our EMless period, none of which have gotten ANY Dev response, not even a cursory "were looking into it".

Honestly I think they have given up on siege. They will toss us a bone once every two years or so, just because, but their comments on the video that "siege is hard to design for" says to me "We are no designing for siege, sorry.", so things will probably just be this way forever. And I think thats what a lot of others think, and I think thats helping the population drop faster than normal.

An exception was made for Siege. A Siege EM really needs to know how the shard works. The previous EMs were Siege players to one extent or another.

If it was, I sure do wonder what those faction guys did with her casket. If they didn't bury her near the Yew abbey, like almost every other shard did (folks on Arirang, Balhae, and Formosa are all still waiting for Dawn to have a proper burial), where DID they put it??

I know! Kelmo put Dawn's casket from Siege with his collection of Trammel moonstones and other similar oddities.

I doubt they have any desire to shut the shard down, they would just do it if so. But clearly they have no interest in devoting more than the very slightest of developers time to improving or maintaining it as a unique entity.

I would venture to guess an EM created event would not need any special coding to take place on Siege. All the EM has to fathom is he or she is only in FELUCCA, period.

For example, we have a Luna, you do not see fancy things connecting our player run towns on Siege like ya do when ya go see the EM placed fancies on say Chesapeake with banners and insta touch em things to get every player to connect to every player run township on that shard.

When an EM holds some event, they are holding these events in somewhere UO land...SIEGE HAS land cities every thing everyone else has for cities cept, they are felucca based be they Luna Zento downtown Brit and the rest. What coding would an EM need to host something they already host elsewhere, in cities towns on uo land anywhere...we have those same spots too.

Ya do not see an EM built WEDDING CHAPEL on Siege. I have seen one with all fancy trees and buildings *elsewhere* not like Siege needs a wedding chapel but just sayin...if an EM can create even buildings and possess the ways and means to toss up banners and gates connecting player run towns on other shards, THEY COULD DO THAT TOO on Siege !

IF an EM is hosting some event related to a storyline on every OTHER SHARD, same story line can also be played out on SIEGE.........but we GET NONE and GET NO EMs. Most shards have 2 ACTIVE EMs we do not even get ONE.

Yes we are virtually ignored yet WE pay the same monthly EA UO Fees as every other shards of UO customers yet we are given 99999% less than every other shards customers.

The concept of customer service is to provide SERVICE to your customers not to ignore em to death or forget they exist or make excuses for never ever payin attention to them when they too pay as much as every one else to BE YOUR CUSTOMER !

ima gonna go now before this paying EA UO Customer explodes. I rl worked in Customer Service for several years and I'd a been fired to ignore ANY customers ever.

Ya see I have 2 shards lil signias in my signature...I see the inequality horribly all the time between the two shards I AM a part of & love, point is I pay same as everyone else does and see my/our & EA's Siege customer base, which I AM a part of too, is treated very ...horribly, and it is JUST NOT FAIR !

Siege seems to me to be the only shard that actualy BELONGS to the players...

There area lot of folks out there I know that think Siege is a PVP night mare shard...
I gotta say, It's NOT!

There is no "Yew Gate" mentality on Siege what we do have is RESPECT and lots of it...

If you want to play on a shard with out people constantly berating each other come visit us hop in Gen chat and tell us your new to the shard... =) I think you will be pleasantly surprised...

As for an EM on Siege I hope the devs read this and I hope they consider letting us have one possibly even with more power then the normal EM's our players will quickly let you devs know if there a problem with our EM's we don't care much for cheats and things of that nature...

But please if your reading this and considering giving us an EM give us one of our own... someone that knows the shard and the people and how things work there...

Mesanna visited Siege this afternoon to give the players there a nice surprise: A date with Virtuebane Tuesday evening and a fun little preview today with a duplicate of Virtuebane, some blackrock golems, and a few ancient hellhounds. She also moved Ricardo's pie stand to a more accessible location and upgraded the moongate near the Brit bank.

Yeah, I logged in and within minutes, the crystal statue popped up on Magincia, and I'm wondering what is going on since we should have had another 45 minutes or so before we were gated off somewhere to touch the statue. It was interesting.

The people who play Siege who did manage to get to the event made me extremely proud. No PKing. No looting of other player's corpses. No stealing of unblessed items. Much running, dying, rezzing, gating people in, and most of all, COOPERATION and watching each other's backs.

However, I think there is tonight a great cloud of disappointment and hurt hanging over Siege. EA offered a last-minute tidbit that felt almost like an afterthought, and then carelessly, thoughtlessly yanked it away from folks by making a last-minute schedule change.

If it hadn't been for Tia making a post on the Siege forum when she heard Mesanna's in-game announcement that the time was being moved up by an hour and set to start in 30 minutes, even more people would have entirely missed the event (yes, it was done in under an hour).

A number of players who live outside the US set their clocks to get up in the middle of the night, only to log on and find out they'd missed things. Sure, there's a vendor set up for a day or so to give out some fancy-schmancy bone arms that many on the shard probably can't or don't dare even use, and supposedly some excess spawn's gonna appear all night long. However, it feels like such a slap in the face after hearing so many people log on excited to get to do an "official" game-wide event together as a community, only to realize the event was already over. All the planning people did to make sure as many people would be there as possible, all the buzz in General chat to make sure people knew the exact time to show up--it was all for naught. I heard not one word of explanation or apology for the time change. Not a peep.

Very, very, very disappointing, EA. The fun I did have tonight and the unexpected but welcome surprise at how very well-behaved everyone was is tarnished by the way you so callously treated your customers.

Yep Tina, you sum it up pretty well. I was one of those, my character is Doive just incase anyone wanted to know, who set my alarm.

Went to bed earlier just to get a few hours sleep, otherwise I'd been a zombie by 3am GMT, and woke up on time at 2.45am GMT to get on just before the event was scheduled to start.

Got to Britain Bank, one or two walking around. I had a quick run around, as General Chat was quiet for a few moments, and noticed no one waiting around Brit Castle or the Bank.

I found this odd. So I gated to Magcinia and found the event over. I was pretty vocal about my annoyance and I probably got on people's nerves. But I was, and still am a little, annoyed it was changed so late in the day.

I appreciate the fact that Mesanna and a few EMs helped out, but the customer service is just ****ing terrible. And I'm really annoyed at Mesanna.

I don't ask for much, just a simple forum post from her on Siege forum just apologising for the late minute change. But i know that probably won't happen, and I know that it makes me sound petty.

But its the only EM event we've had in recent times and its the only one we'll get in the foreseeable future, so I make the effort to attend it.

Sure, I got the bracers but I missed the event and I didn't see any sort of ingame apology (although it was hard to read amongest all the chat).

Just one very grumpy player right now.

I have long felt that those who do not play Siege do not understand just how many players there are on Siege who are from Britain and Europe.

It makes a huge difference in the timing for events. I would love to see a "census" of sorts concerning where folks are from who play Siege. I can name 4 that I know who are from Britain. At least 6 who are from Germany. That may not sound like a lot, but those are just the people that I know and I am certain there are as many or more that I do not know. Would it have looked different last night if there had been 10 - 30 more people running around? It would have.

This multi-national population also often skews people's perception of Siege's population. Take the population of a shard which is, say, heavily US based and often play US evenings, and then spread those same number of folks over a 24 hour round-the-clock play time and you are closer to what Siege has. Log into Siege some early afternoon and you'll find many of these folks. Log on at 5 am (after server up) and you'll find many of these folks. No matter what time I log onto Siege there are always guildmates of mine on (Gilfane) because of all the players from Britain and Europe (including two of the guild's leaders!). And often when GIL plans an event, we set the time early enough that those who live overseas are able to play. But the result is that it thins the population no matter what time you look at it because everyone is so spread out.

The ideal solution, which only have worked if Siege had its own EM, would have been to host the event twice - once when it was 'prime time' for US players (without shifting the time on them) and once when it was 'prime time' for the UK/European players.

Just sayin' (and for the record, I happen to live in the Central US)
