T-map template question

On a treasure hunter template, I was wondering if it is worth putting mining on it. I heard a rumor once that if your going after a map location that it helps you zero in on the exact spot, like half a screen away? ? ? ?

Is it helpful enough for me to put mining on my treasure map hunter? Is it worth it?

I have no idea but you would probably get a faster answer if you put it in the T-hunter forum.

It really depends on how good you are at zeroing in on that pin marker.

Ever since they changed the maps to randomize the locations, I've found the mining to be extremely helpful... 4x4 is a hell of a lot better than fumbling around to find the one square radius. Especially since UO has that endearing little trait of somehow turning the treasure map orientation 45 degrees from the overhead map. (Gee thanks, whatever dev thought of that hot idea. I guess all the cartographers in the world are in on this little joke)

Another tip is don't dig where the red sphere is, but the pin needle is actually about a centimeter southwest of the pin head. THAT's where you dig. It surprises me how many people still dont know that and spend forever digging....

i would advise you to YES put mining on your t-map hunter. I have mine set to 100 mining skill and i think is definitely worth it. You will still have plenty of skill points to use on magery so you can hide while EV's do the fighting.

You can solo level 1 - 5 maps with little or no problem even with 100 pts going to mining. HUGE time saver when digging up with the +5 area digging radius. Hope that helps....

Everytime I forget to borrow it from my smith before my t hunter heads out, I can't find the spot. I think it is almost a necessity unless you are extemely patient and don't mind doing, dig...step...dig...step...dig step. For what sometimes seems an eternity.
