Ultima Manga: The Maze of Schwarzchild

Hahaha oh my god

That aside, I've been wondering for a while whether UO wouldn't benefit from an alternate-medium expansion. Another comic - probably unfeasible; the fantasy comics market is glutted and not thriving, plus we'd be competing with the WoW manga; and I think we can all agree that avoiding WoW at all costs is in UO's best interests - or a book series, which would be more suitable if they could get someone talented to write it.

I am aware that the answer is probably "No."

(Do not even mention a movie. We had a "Which actor would play your character?" thread here in UHall about three years ago, and I have only recently been able to blot the memories out.)

From a position of game design, alternative media helps with the characterisation of the setting, and allows elements to be portrays as "more alive" than can really be shown in the game.
The only example UO really has is the written fiction, which is fairly popular. It adds more body to the ongoing events, and the characters involved, which is important for a game with such RP potential.

is that a paragon human in the top one?

Looking at that, a nice fight at the exodus dungeon (inside & out) might be fun.

oh, is the fight in Magincia still going on? There's no posts anymore since Haven was locked out of it.

I'd still love for even a fan translation of those to show up... just nobody seems to actually have the books, or those that do aren't scanning them.

Mm.

It has been done.

Lynn Abbey: The Forge of Virtue - The Codex of Ultima Wisdom

Jordan Hawson and his companions return to Hawksnest only to receive a bitter welcome: their home has been tainted by the same evil they confronted and escaped in the northern forests. Even Jordan's father, Lord Ironhawk, is in the thrall of the corrupt inquisitor Lohgrin. With Jordan blind and disheartened, the Inquisitor moves swiftly and without opposition. Magician Balthan is condemned as a traitor, young Squirt becomes a fugitive in his own home, but the worst befalls Althea. The beautiful young woman will become Lohgrin's bride unless her friends find within their hearts the will and courage to free themselves from the Inquisitor's malignant sorcery.

The Technocrat War, Book 1: Machinations - The Codex of Ultima Wisdom

As war ravages the time-torn world of Sosaria, the knights and wizards of New Britannia have joined the warlike Juka to invade the desert wastes of the Technocrats. To uncover the secret plot of the shadowy forces that control the carnage, an outlaw knight and a crafty Jukan veteran must challenge fierce enemies and their own ideas of honor, else the final battle could destroy all three nations and perhaps the very foundations of Sosaria itself.

I doubt most do.

Then of course there was the canceled anime film. See Ultima Online 2.

In addition to the novel trilogy, there were plans to craft an animated film based upon the game's setting which would have told the quest of a group of hero to destroy the "Blood Stone" and banish Necromancy from New Britannia. However the project ended up being cancelled due to budgetary constraints.

Banish necromancy?! That's not a heroic act! Necromancy is amazing! It is the backbone of the magical system!! I WILL KILL EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD
