Sell me on Bushido

I know that people use it (a LOT of people) and I've been around long enough I should know better, but... why do people like it?

I've read up on it on uoguide and I still can't quite grasp why it is so in demand over chivalry. So, if you could help enlighten my poor, dumb little mind I'd be ever so appreciative.

Im in the same boat. The last time I was active in this game, ninjas and samurais had just arrived and i never played them. Right now im using alot of Chiv while building my thrower . I have a little necro and also bushido but have not been able to see what skills of bushido to use. Defensive stance allows a bonus when you parry but i have no parry skill to go along with it so? Anyway a few pointers would be helpful..

well lets see real quick,

perfection, up to 100% di bonus and up to 1000 luck

confidence, heal on the run

parry bonus, basically double parry chance (@120)

lighting strike, 50 hci and up to 20% chance for double damage

evasion, massive parry chance works on any type of damage (almost)

counter attack, works wonders if your under heavy fire (w parry)

counts for cost reduction for weapon specials

There is probably more but even with out parry: perfection, reduced specials cost, confidence, and LS is enough I have 3 120 bushi.

Hmm... but the 50 hci doesn't stack, does it, if I already have 45 hci, correct?

And does the 100% damage bonus from perfection go over the 100% normal cap from items?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but I want you to know I really appreciate the response!

Hi Canary. With 100 DI from items, 100 DI from Perfection and the bonus from Enemy of One, you can hit the 300% DI cap without using a Slayer. This is huge for all of the warrior templates that use life leech as their primary forms of healing. The harder you hit, the more you heal.

As mentioned, I also enjoy the benefits of evasion (combined with parry), confidence, and the luck bonus. The HCI bonus from LS isn't as important because with imbuing most warriors are running 40-45ish HCI on their suit. But at 120 bushido, you have roughly a 1 in 5 chance of landing a critical hit. Crits give big damage. Don't forget LS is cheap for mana cost compared to AI and other weapons specials.

Speaking of mana cost, bushido also helps you qualify for the -10 mana cost with 300+ points in weapons skills for special moves. Momentum strike is also handy in champ spawns and other places where you have lots of monsters surrounding you.

So there are lots of good reasons for a warrior to use bushido. You can go without, but you pretty much have to chain AI and use a slayer weapon to be close to as effective.

Excellent answer, I would add that Lightening Strike is awesome for refilling your mana pool between specials if you have mana leech on your weapon.
