I watched all 4 parts of the HoC and read all of the related threads here in Stratics as well. I must say it wasn't much different in quality than the last batch of FOFs right before those were scrapped. Admittedly there's a lot of information on new items, Magincia and such.. A bit of info about art and so on; By the way how is that going to change anything? No one plays UO for its graphics obviously. Either we get a new UO or we might as well give the CC EC's GUI and be done with that. Anyway.. There's even a bit of information on PVP Arenas.. But we knew all that, kind of..
That's all fine, considering we've had FOFs on much less relevant issues. However there are a few very important issues that were not touched at all. There's a poll here which indicates currently that players would be greatly interested in taking a look at existing, problematic systems. So I have to wonder how difficult it would be for Cal and his team to cover THOSE issues some time soon. Even if they don't go into much more detail it would be nice.
... It's been too long since PVP, Factions, cheating and such were discussed openly. Insisting on PVP not being a major part of the game, which IMHO it is to be honest, is one thing. Mentioning things like new items, then not talking about PVP at ALL.. Does that translate into "We don't need your money, go play another MMO!" for those of us whose sole source of entertainment in UO is actually PVP? I personally had to resort to that.
New items interest us all equally I'd think so maybe that was a bad example but I think I made my point, it seems fixing anything related to combat is extremely low on their priority list. Why do we need an Arena if the system the Arena is designed to support is broken, abused and attracts mostly cheaters?
