Griefers put together a great show during the event. I get used to the stupid remarks and spams during the events, but the saddest part was the sarcophagus bursting into 4x4 tile flames -not once or twice- constantly. Naturally, the flowers we put only stand there for 2 seconds.

I've read that similar things hapenned in the past on other shards, even in Mesanna's presence.

You have to understand its the same issue about ignoring the game counselors, than ignoring the griefers.

Jail a griefer, risk losing business, say no to a counselor that is hopelessly addicted to helping noobs ; risk losing business.

Who cares if the roleplayers have their experience ruined anyways ; they will remain there even if EA itself spat in their eyes.

You'd find it amazing now how much none of the devs have real power to the game anymore. But it's not a direct physical cause...

If they caught a hacker trying to make the servers crash ; they'd hide under their bed and cross their fingers that it stops as soon as possible. Remember what happened when both stratics and Atlantic were aimed at by Anonimus and their ping attacks.

They waited it out... even though I knew how to prevent it.

Heck the hacker might have a few dozen accounts with them !

72 hours ban for griefing at events. Without prior warning. Will make those folks think twice.

First and only thing needed is EA act on their own ToS - they don't, otherwise the problem would not still be occuring after all these years. And it is 'don't' - can be done with enough trained and competent staff. Their choice is not to have them, but talk a lot about how they care. Wears thin after all these years, but it's pretty much all we get - hell, it's not that long ago Mesanna herself got seriously upset by the way folks were behaving to her at an event, and even that didn't seem to get anyone worked up enough to get their act together and enforce their own rules.

Maybe they need to consider whather this is something they should include in their revamped 'new player experience', so new folks can see exactly what they are in for attending events ....

Put invisible blue NPC at most guarded key locations. So any 4x4 flame will instant guard-whack them.

I think there has been maybe 3 of those threads talking about the funeral. I know 2 for sure.

And the funny thing is, the LS EMs posted that warning a few days ago, well in advance of tonight's funeral, so they seemed to have a pretty good idea of what things people were going to pull.

Let's be fair though - anyone who has played the game, or most other online games, should have had a pretty good idea what some of the player base would get up to... especially when they know they are almost certain to get away with it.

Be good if the LS EMs actually are able to get a proper grip on the antics of the morons, but it would be far better if EA did that across all the shards, all the time, rather than just talking a good fight and then caving in.

That maybe actually from Mesanna, because it's preceded by "Message from the boss" which would be Mesanna.

Based on what we saw happen on Europa - the message, as usual, was words and no actions. Hope you have a better result on LS.

Same thing was said on atlantic... I wasn't even able to see the text from the EMs in the last events I went due to spammers.

Wouldnt it be nice to just go to an event and see griefers disappear one by one?. No warnings, just gone.

This is most probably Mesanna since our Ems told me that there were nothing they can do.

Mesanna monitoring the events on only some shards is not a solution! If this is the only thing they can come up with -and I wouldnt be surprised if this is the only thing they come up with-, then she should attend all events on all shards without any exception instead of favoring some shards. I dont see one reason why Lake Superior is more important than any other shard when it comes to griefers.

Since Mesanna attending all events on all shards is not plausible, either they need to give Ems more power or make GMs attend and monitor the events.

Perhaps after realising the bad move they did with Clanin's funeral, which exeptionally and very eerily had no grifers on Atlantic.

Well yes Clanin was just brought back in the story to be killed ; he was helpless all along and there was no way even an extensive guard could have prevented his death.

Yet the griefers came on that day, quietly giving items to the ems that were saying "Minax is number 1" "Minax rules"

And well, the ems put their stuff permanently on the ground ; and even if I was able to get most of them taken out (and the blackrock, what an insult)...

They realised that the veteran players would not stand so much more incongruity before "phasing out"... all at once...

Of course that happens behind the scenes...

Agreed. Event on Sonoma went well. This seems to be one of the (relatively few) benefits to being on a lower pop shard.

I think it was a very peacefull event, a few flames yes, but overall i enjoyed it and could read all things in the journal. The attack was cool and by the way there were a lot of people and okay one or two were spamming a bit or a few comments here and there. But this is a game! And all players paying for the events not only roleplayers, this doenst mean there should something happen which is against the ToS, if the EM says go away or stop screaming you have to stop!

What they should do is simple to disallow throwing flame potions in towns.

He has taken the crystal ? There was so much people and stuff that I was never even able to see when he was talking most of the time...

Remember years ago, when they were putting "The Relics of Mondain" on display in Britain, and the GM didn't get them locked down quick enough and someone ran off with some of them? That was on GL, possible you didn't know about it. They actually had a planned event of that nature, but this time it was for real. Word went out that someone stole them, and everyone was trying to find the thief. The GM's got to him, though.

Of course, nothing quite stacks up to the beta incident where a sewing kit was bugged, and instead of deleting itself when the charges ran out, it would delete whatever was targeted next. The player was deleting the game world, and even other player characters. Raph Koster "froze" him, I assume before he could delete dear ol' Raph, .

But I don't think they have the actual item on them these days. I'm sure they've "learned" from past events. Too bad though. I wish they allowed what happens to happen, and code in solutions to the obvious problems.

or the time when I got left alone with the armageddon scroll and the blackgem...

I mean I was a seer, but they had only deleted that character on my account, my regular character that I would use at seer events was forgotten.

This is what led me to eventually find the wisp which "taught" me how to use the artifacts.

But that is in a different frame of mind, I wouldn't find it funny at all that I would be left with two of the most important items before the actual event made it to other shards.

The most ironic part is that I am sure that this wisp was genuine ; and that it was able to transfer the armageddon spell (which was only on test center, it was made to cause a house and bank wipe, and then we were to introduce a script that I had developped with a few people to prevent all duping in game)...

Well I take too much credit, I had the original idea (and it would still work) but I did not do the coding on it (for me it was too complex in the day).

Surprisingly, the FoA was working for the best interest of Sosaria !

Agreed. While I'm extremely glad that EM events allow another reason for others to log in, I grew bored with them and have chosen to sit them out, for the most part.

By the by... and I say in advance i'm not trying to revive the discussion at all... I saw something at the LS event that may explain the "reds in trammel" thing that popped up not long ago: the EM was controlling Virtuebane directly (as in, during combat). Normally they have to switch to a normal automated mob if they want what they're controlling to attack.

Honestly, if it would mean the EMs could actually be allowed to directly control monsters like staff have done in the past, I think I could live with reds being allowed in Tram (since the two are undoubtedly connected).
