T.maps-Mining 100 vs 105

Is there any advantage to having 105 mining vs 100 mining when digging up and looking for tmaps? Despite reading UOguide and this site and asking around my home shard I have not found anything thats a definitive answer.

Nope. And if there is it is insignificant.

In the Treasure Hunting FAQ in the Fishing and Treasure Hunting Forum, it gives the dig radius effects of your mining skill. I do not recall any changes to this when they added the mining gloves.

I will test it if I get a chance, but you can test as well. Bring a set of +5 Mining Gloves with you. Once you find your spot, halt your digging by moving. Then stand five tiles away and try to dig it up, if successful, take a step back and try 6 tiles. If you cannot dig it up from five tiles away, then there is no benefit from the mining gloves.

The uneven terrain makes testing that difficult. Unless you are in a truly flat area there is no way to know for sure. Atleast it did few months/year ago.

OWN asked this question in uoguide a while ago so I tested it in TC1, however only by using +1 gloves:

I just tried using the mining gloves at 100.0 skill but I didnt get any tile bonus from them (still at 4 tiles away). Yet I could dig the chest 4 tiles away at 99.0 real skill and +1 mining gloves, so you can dig the chest from 4 tiles away at 95.0 skill using a +5 mining gloves.Nimuaq 08:23, 26 January 2011 (PST)
