Question... Best settings for a cheap off the rack comp.

Kelmo the EC should run fine with the standard set up !
if you have problems or it seems slow we can do the following!

1 under the user setting click the graphic tab and run in fullscreen mode
2 turn off foliage
3 turn off shadows
4 turn off v-sinc
5 turn off idle animation
6 set particle detail to low
7 set animation to low
8 set fps to mach what your monitor is set at probably 60

These changes you should only have to do if you are running slow

But i have to say there is no really difference in performance between high middle and low, shadows yes, foliage also a bit, but a real performance settings isnt included yet.

For me there are two options it is running smoothly and you can play with it, or it is not running good you got no chance at all. But i would say your machine is just fine to handle it, you should try it.

Thanks folks. My gaming rig still runs fine, but my 5 year old utility comp bit the dust All the stuff I do not want on the gaming computer goes on this one. I will play around with it tomorrow on my day of.

i believe the EC will ask administrator rights automaticly. but yes ^

Hmm... EC runs much better than I had anticipated. It is very playable. *moves on to phase two. get son to come over and play every now and then*

I would recommend installing Pinco's mod also!
