I bought a code and attempted to apply it to my account five times with IE8 and another two times using the Firefox browser. It times out, resets or just fails for whatever reason every time. I switched to Google's Chrome and it worked, seems to always work, the first time.

So, we got folks griping (surprise, surprise) that the discount on long term game time is not all that great. Just thought I'd step in and point out that the majority of items offered are discount by 25 to 35 percent with some notable 50 percent and one close to 60 percent discounts. The sixmonth gametime code at 54.99 also represents a 40 percent discount off month to month sub fees. So, there!

Everybody yells down the store, they shouldn't sell that stuff, it takes away from the game, yada yada yada.

Bottom line, if they do not offer these and an expanded set of goods and services, then they relegate them to third party vendors, like it or not, which seem to be the root causes of many of our ingame economies problems.

Hey I am holding out for "the whale" to become available from the store, because while fishing occasionally is fun, kicking in my OCD so I can have it now before everyone else, is not.

The meteoric rise of Draconi was largely due, if memory serves to the eighth age "booster" which was essentially a bulk packaging of store goods, and it lead to the multi account discount for ML upgrades, also very successful.

If a multi acct SA upgrade had been available, I would have been on it. If a multi acct upgrade for High Seas had been available, ditto, and I would currently be running more active subs.

If the team is going to grab the reins of this game again, and if they want to see profitability go up, and expand the base, the store is going to need more attention than just an anniversary collection and a semi annual discount package.

More packages need to be implemented that have to do with acquisition of in game items through time consuming and unwieldy systems. Heartwood quest recipes, woodworking tools for carp and bow. BoD rewards? How bout a token good for one each of all rewards in all tiers, or maybe 1000 of each reward cloth and all color sandals(might be a good time to add color sandals to match all cloths) or 10 each of all low level smith bod rewards?

I wouldn't mind seeing something that has 100 each of all plant pigments and 100 each of plant produced resources. The list could go on and on.

Free to play today or not, instead of griping about players or groups of players that run scripts, why not

A: show EA that we like the game by helping them monetize the efforts of the people they pay to maintain it.
B: take control of the "world" away from the unscrupulous by NOT rewarding their efforts in that vein, and
C:Free up Dev time spent squashing countless bugs in archaic code that enable those in B to reap profits so they can concentrate on releasing quality code and improved gaming, which I think is what most desire to continue much less begin (behind a very LARGE curve I might add) to play the game we hold so dear not in spite of, but because of its unique play style and playability.

That said, I would still like to see crimson dyes added to Haochi's pigments. Thanks for reading.

Don't think I don't see where you are coming from. The game loses immersitivity when gratification is available so freely, but it is already available freely through those that the team spends a good deal of their time trying to collar. I just see this as a better set of tools with which to allow individual and community development to occur at a more controlled pace.

Actually I had thought that for 19.99 allowing an account to "pick up" aging all the way back to its inception plus three months would be a pretty good seller. And they might be able to tag some accounts multiple times as the years continue to roll on.

So...I'd suggest not buying anything (on special), untill EA gets their issues fixed. You might pay $54.99 and get a legacy token!
This is why I use brokers! They are cheaper and more reliable.

I'm sorry. I really am, for both of us as well as everyone else who loves UO.

But look at what they have recently done. A sale to promote the cash shop sales, a new item property to promote itemization (which promotes RMT from a sideways look), and a cash shop item that gives you "end game" content (forge tool).

This looks like a definite lean towards more of the cash shop business, i.e. FtP and more cash sales.

IIRC you get seperate tokens for each item, Meaning you can't claim say 11 Snow Trees, you get 1 token for each of the 11 items.

This is what it was doing for me, for that same code. I switched to Chrome and it worked without a hitch.

The site is weird to say the least. I actually started using the Firefox browser when AoS launched because I couldn't get through using Internet Explorer. Iv'e used Firefox as my main browser ever since.

Now the last few times I've tried to enter a code or two using Firefox it won't work. I'll give Internet Explorer a try and it won't work. I'm pretty sure that Chrome has worked, on the first try, every time
