Relic Fragments In Abundance

Just what the title says. The big shards are completely flooded with these and I'm wondering how people are getting large amounts of those legally besides just buying them. Are people still crafting them with Bronze Runics or is there a cheaper method? Is that method still viable for producing large quantity?

Quick answer is yes, people are still crafting them. I don't remember what you're supposed to craft for them though, will leave that to other posters. It's one of the weps that req. use of a gem though. I usually just farm arties because I hate doing BODs and would rather kill stuff :).

I'm gonna get burned for this, but bronze hammers + perfect emeralds + gold ingots crafting ML blades = about 3-5 relics per blade when unraveled at the queen's forge.

Everyone should know, it's stupid that some people mass produce these, jack up the prices in Luna and make a killing, when people themselves can "create" them easily with the right resources....

Glad someone shared one method on how to easily create relic fragments.

In addition, you should check out the UO Crafter's Forum....they have some additional information on how to craft relic fragments easily.

The Mondain's Legacy recipe methods for acquiring relic fragments has been known for a long time and has been posted in the Crafters Forum forever.

All other publicly known methods, which mostly involved imbuing up to an intensity, have been nerfed out of existence by the devs.

It's commonly accepted that the ML recipe method won't be nerfed because it requires, runic hammers from the BOD system, ML gems and colored ingots. That doesn't mean it won't get nerfed anyway though.

I have to agree though that the Luna prices for relic frags are exorbitant. Especially if you figure that thousands of those commodity deeds were filled with frags from the much cheaper methods before they were nerfed.

One of the easiest ways to make relics is just go to champ spawns after pvpers finish and pick up the loot from the champ. You'll pull 20 relics per champ in many cases.

I am informed that this is true of many kinds of high-level monsters. And really this is how it should be; there's an important degree to which Imbuing is a supplement to the loot system as much as it is a supplement to traditional crafting.

I must rely on "being informed" by others because I have no Imbuer of my own, nor any other kind of crafter, and thus must rely upon others for my information.

What would you suggest for creating enchanted essences then? :stir:

Unravel the items you dont want from making wepons with dull or shadow hammers when making elemental wepons [they sell for 1-5mill per 100% elemental dmg with little to no crap mods]

Kind of like how people over price powder of fort? 200k or more for something that should only be 30k tops. Kind of silly that a smith or tailor of high skill only produces equipment with 40-70 durability when the cap is 255...

An other reason you see so many these days is that most of the players that were going to take the time and effort to create that perfect suit or two for each character, and weapons for every occasion have already done so.

Combine this with the shrinking shard populations and there is just not the demand for them like it was when imbuing first came out.

Miasma loot.
Its abundant, they arent that hard to kill (for a mystic bard anyway), and you get buttloads of gold as well as the occasional chest with a lvl 6 map in it!

Added to the fact that they also have GM arms lore for the added bonus and well yeah, it is kinda sad and lame.
This should be bumped to perhaps 120 or 130 anywho.
I mean, Cmon, a LEGENDARY tailor gets 40 durability? Wont stay legendary very long makin crap like that! hehe

Unfortunetely as with every time someone decides to reveal a method to obtain them on stratics. It is closed as soon as it's heard this is why people don't say there methods on public boards with DEV listening or do I have to remind people the multiple updates of relic obtaining that were closed after some person decides to guy post how to. So if they close the method it would be that poster fault which makes no sense as everyone made more relic fragmets they know what to do with by now. So it's no benefits for everyone who has it only stifles any future relic creater. Which realy it doesn't matter the time to make relic rare was before imbuing went public. It's far too late now. im just so surprise people still waste there time actually hunting for items to make relics with that is such a long and wasteful process. I prefer when there was a chance that your random item on the monster was better than what you had those where the days. Reasons to hunt repeately for all these years the same monsters.

only 200k? I've seen it sell for 350-500k on Lake Austin.

That said, I've got 40 vials on hand for my own use, from BODs done last year (I've been too busy working fishing up and fighting invasions/training disco on my tamer/bard since the fall to do much crafting).

BTW, the cost of a vial of POF is best seen as follows:

Ingots: average of 300 ingots needed per BOD (as few as 8x10, as many as 25x20). Ingots cost about 50 each (DC or Shadow, for exceptional smalls) or 100 each (gold or agapite, for normal smalls; technically also bronze, for 20 count, but those are 20% POF chance).

A few BODs might cost as little as 4000 gold to fill (Shadow Tear Kite Exceptional x10) for a 90% chance, or as much as 50,000 (Gold Ex Plate Tunic x20). About half the bods that CAN produce POF are only 20% chance (4 Iron LBODs, 48 small DC BODs, 24 small Bronze BODs, 48 small gold BODs - compared to 2 Iron LBODs. 24 DC smalls, 48 Shadow smalls, 24 gold smalls, and 48 agapite smalls).

So about (4/9 * 5 (as only 1 in 5 is a POF) + 5/9 * 10/9 (9 out of 10 are POF)) * 20,000 (approximately the average price of a batch of ingots for one BOD) = (20/9 + 50/81) * 20,000 = (180+50)/81 * 20,000 = 2.83 * 20,000 = 56,600.

Even if you only do the 90% chance ones, it's still an average cost in the mid-20s, plus you eliminate over half the BODs that give POF (as the 20% POF BODs are substantially more common BOD pulls than the 90% ones, once you factor in their metal type - as there's a 1.4% difference per metal type, that makes DC BODs about 10% more common than Shadow, and about Bronze 20s and Gold 10-15 smalls about 20% more common than gold 20s and Agapite 10-15s))

So, 30k as a top price is just as ludicrous as 300k for a bottom one.

Now this is an idea. Does anyone have the information about the bonuses/deductions for unraveling? For instance the resource mods like colored metals and wood? What about all the negative/reducing effects from 6+ mods? Would really like to see the actual math on all those. :link: Help me out guys I couldn't find it no matter what I searched for.

Ignore the last few lines there!

I am glad you can unravel loot to get relics. Personally, I wish it was even slightly easier. Try finding a relic frag for sale on Origin. I finished my 120 artificer there, but haven't been able to get relics quickly enough to meet the demands of re-outfitting my chars.

On the bigger shards, I hope relic prices slowly fall and become even more affordable for those without a big stash of gold.

i come to find even on atlantic, at 3mil per 100 (30,000gp per), relic fragments are still very affordable. most people will gladly pay decent gold for easy imbuing services because they simply have no other choice. even without self promotion, i find enough jobs through general chat to support myself with purchasing relic fragments from the most expensive vendor in luna.

even today in general chat someone was offering 1 million for a simple +13 tactics and mace fighting bracelet and ring. that's roughly 32 star sapphire and 16 enchanted essence to craft that even a low skill level imbuer could complete.

i like the way things are, i like the high demand on relic fragments and the cost that comes with it and if you are a good imbuer, making gold should be no issue.

You make Knight's War Cleavers with bronze hammers and Perfect Emeralds, but use Dull Copper ingots instead of Gold since you'll get the same results but more cost effectively. Its all in the Crafters forum :)

I disagree. I did 5 rat spawns last week. Only got two relics from all the loot. The only reason i got those is because i unraveled a janas staff and the shepard crook thing.

Price is driven by supply, demand and the person's desire to or not to do what it takes to get the item. No matter what it is. It is largely based on convenience for alot of folks. Its not always the same for each person. So the market will continue as it should.
