[UO Herald] Server Maintenance Today - All Shards

[UO News]

Greetings,

Today at 1:00PM EST all shards will be brought offline for maintenance, additionally at this time we are working to improve stability and encourage players to jump on Test Center 1 to assist us in forcing it to crash. With the exception of Oceania, we anticipate all shards will be back online by 3:00PM EST. Oceania will be migrated back to Australia, this should resolve latency issues players in the Oceanic region have been experiencing.

Furthermore, the following fix will be deployed during this maintenance:

• We have fixed the issue with Scalis’s corpse disappearing.

Hours of downtime massive lag, great pc's with the game locking up for no reason. No word from any developers EVER about anything. What end of the year? What middle of January? What by the end of the week? Middle of the week? End of the week? Middle of February next? In game support is a joke 2.

If, as they say, they are trying to get more people onto TC to force a crash, one way to encourage people to go there is to make it the onl available shard to be on, during primeplaying hours. Devious Devs they are!!!

This patch is a program that cross references ip adresses of those that post negative comments on Stratics with those that actually log into UO. This is an attempt to ban you all not only on Stratics but also from the game entierly.

Well, I'm not saying it was everything that has been asked for, but the Oceania issue and Scalis issue were both questions people have been asking about on here, there have been active threads asking about them recently so that was where I was coming from on that.

I'm a little surprised by how many people are taking this negatively.

It's an inconvenience to lose the game for a little over 2 hours but for stability, or at least for them working on it?

I find it hard to take it as a negative sign, save unless you take the existence of problems as a negative sign itself.

And, surely, there are problems. But once their existence is established, how is it negative that they are working on them?

I think its pathetic that we keep paying 12 bucks a month for this game.
I swear to gawd if it wasn't for the people I know and play with in game for years and years I would quit playing and pay some dIk to dos attack each stupid EA Ultima server out there for pretty much robbing all you people for the past few years....

Well I feel robbed .. say what ya want, whatever. It's a free country but I still pay 12 bucks more a month for a game that I could play for free and get better service.

The developers need to pow wow, smoke some good **** & listen to good music right... & video tape so they remember and make the best shard they can freaking think of to give the game some life again.

FWIW, they seem to have fixed the awful lag spikes on Sonoma that came up after the "hardware upgrade".

It may just be me, I dunno...
