Who owns UO?

So who really owns UO, who runs the show and calls the shots?

I read most of the history pages, all I got was confused - can someone simplify it for me?
EA(in CA.) has Ultima Online listed as a Franchise.
UO Devs (in VA), as is Bioware, a division of EA studios
Mythic Entertainment(in VA) - Division of BioWare - an Electronic Arts Inc. "studio" ( Subsidiary of Electronic Arts?) .
on the Mythic Entertainment wiki, it doesn't even list UO

I think it's UO < Mythic < Bioware < EA. Could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Actually EA owns the IP known as "Ultima" thus they own UO. They also own the studio's that Develop for UO, currently that being Bioware (Mythic is an illusion now) Although they always owned the studio producing UO, Originally they owned Origin Systems, then they acuired Mythic and made it OSI/Mythic then got rid of OSI (It was an illusion by then anyhow) and now they acuiried Bioware so it is "Mythic/Bioware" (but again mythic is just an illusion at this point)

Simple answer, EA owns UO, and the studios that work on it.

Did RG sell ALL of the Ultima franchise? I thought he had retained some of the rights to the older Ultima, and just sold the MMO version. I could be wrong.

Yes he did, he only retained the LB name.

And it would be impossible for him to ever sell UO since he never owned it, EA has owned Origin since 92, UO was not worked on at all till sometime in 95 and released in 97. He sold Origin systems to EA in 92 and thus all its IPs, including Ultima.
