Items in house disappearing.

today, i logged on to find that all 6 of my dye tubs that were locked down on my first floor are now missing. they have been there for a few months and nobody has the capability to release them but my account (no co-owners). i've heard of items disappearing and going under the house, but i thought this latest patch was supposed to fix that? from what i can see, it doesn't seem like there is anything under my house.

i'm not too concerned about the dye tubs, but, more importantly, do we still have reason to be fearful of locking down items in our houses? has anyone experienced anything similar since this publish went in to fix this supposed issue?

Location of the house? Where about in the house? Got any screenshots to see where the missing items were? I have replaced most of the items that went missing because of the orc spawns / gypsy spawns / brigand spawns. Do you have any spawns around your house? Where those tubs locked down on other furniture / deed items?

ok false alarm. my mistake turns out my real life friend logged on and moved them to his house. was just worried that items were still disappearing, thanks for the responses.

Hate when my son does that. Normally with him it's gold that comes up vanished. Glad everything came out ok, I know some folks were running to check on pixels

In her defence its not her fault...
We meaning 99% of us who co-habitate with others and play UO forget that point we share.
Husbands, children, friends do play uo together and as it has been over the years we do share accounts. Its no biggie.

Had a few years back an x fiancee who accused me of deleting his characters (I could, never do that, they were part of him and I - hell I was the one who built them up!) Turns out it was his step daughter who got mad at him.... she didnt play but knew his password. She got him where it hurt the most.
Another friend who passed away shortly after the loss also had a child who was mad be mean and got his dad's account banned with naughty monkeys.
We tend to forget all around us who can do things to our UO accounts.

I cant tell you the number of times I alone have serched every house shard and box for items I knew I had only to find out my son walked off with it and didnt bother to tell me.
Try that with 53 accounts !
So dont get mad... just be thankfull it was found and not another bug!!!

I keep 42 on active duty, with 4 others on hand for any housing shortage (if I invade a shard I dont have a house on that is) for a total 46 I do run actively.
Others are what I call retired "service" accounts, seven of them.
Remember I have not made alot of these but inherited them over the years from all my friends (most were multi account holders) who quit UO for good.
I have a policy that I hold the account for 1 year as is - meaning I will not use, change, or mingle with my own. After that year I put them to work and upgrade.
I have had the good fortune to return many accounts or my #'s would be much higher. OI!!

The amount of money you must spend on your accounts would be a monthly payment for a very nice car. In fact, there are several apartment complexes where I live that have lower rent than that.

just noticed tonight where tents usually spawn close to my castle...partially missing tables aswell as the items that were displayed on them...extremely p***** about this!, lost a server birth ginseng root, player named severed head, a rift pillar and my last rubble coconut tree to this...its almost like they want people to get p***** off and quit?..been tryin to hang in there! but they do make it hard! lol

sent a few PMs asking that very thing!, my castle is located in a high gypsy tent spawn location, 2 guildys who live in the same area have had piles of checks and chests vanish...its gettin to the point that your not just afraid to display something because it may vanish..but afraid to have chests or any containers anywhere close to the outer walls of your home...

If it helps you at all, i got parts of tables / pentragrams etc in the middle of one of my castles missing. If you go that way, you wont be save anywhere on the ground floor. All the items on the second floor seem to be uneffected tho. No parts missing there.

*edit* you might try to call a gm on those items. Some might still be there locked down below the castle floor. I found some of the table parts that were "missing" that way. I noticed that when i tried to walk on the tiles where the table parts used to be that i was being blocked. When clicking around i could see a single row of pixels from those tables. I could axe the pixelrow. A GM raised the lockdowns until they were part of the house again. I had a gm move stuff twice for me. Each time i got the gm to show up in less than 30 minutes. Each time on a sunday morning at 8am (CET). They are there to help you

tried the CTRL SHIFT, didnt see anything under the floor, (was my first reaction), paged a GM and was respoded to with....*we understand the fustration it may cause when we lose items, but we cannot replace lost items..or something like that*, sad part was i was not asking them to replace it, just to come and look to see if it was under the place...lol
