What classification is Virtue Armor,anyway?

I was testing out some of the colors of the metal dye tub and I was wanting to see what virtue armor would look like. I got the message that I can only use the tub on metal. Alright,so I tried to use the leather dye tub on the virtue pieces. No luck there either. So can someone tell me what classification is virtue armor? Metal,leather.....or,what?

Magic!

I think the problem is, that the armor changes its color once combined. I heard about it being able to be dyed with tokuno dyes but losing that hue after being combined.

So for RP purposes: it's magic,

You are able to dye them with tokuno dye so I will say its viewed as "Magic Items".

This is true,as I have used tok dyes and stains on the virtue pieces. One thing that tells me that it's metal is that active meditation doesn't work while wearing the virtue pieces.

Once the full set is worn, it's all one color and not what you might want. On TC you should be able to dye pieces of the special armors but once you wear the complete set the color changes to default.

And may I add that other sets keep the dyed color when dyed with natural dyes.

But the Virtue Armor goes to its special virtue color.

Makes some amount of sense I suppose?

It's an interesting form of irony though. The armour pieces themselves, whilst a nice change of graphic, are rubbish as practical armour - until you add a cloak of humility at which point you become a glowing beacon of bling .... shows what humility is all about :p

(And I still want to be able to craft armour that looks like the basic virtue armour pieces, with decent resists and modifiers. Not in the colours of the armour, no special 'suit' abilities, just for a simple alternative to the standard look of armour that we've had for all these years with very little variety).

I just wish the suit could be imbued w/o it losing it's self repair mod.

the whole thing behind imbuing is that it will wear out. self repair defeats that. thats also why you cant powder it after imbued.

Exactly ... which is why I'd like to make similar style stuff that clearly is NOT the virtue armour, but at least looks a bit more interesting then the standard stuff we can make.

This I can agree upon.... wouldn't it be nice if we got something new to craft? New clothes.... new armor.... and what I'd really love...... is to be able to "alter" items of the same property..... taking all the properties of one item and transferring them to another equal item of the same slot...
