I agree that more arties would be nice.. I'd love to use spirit of the totem instead of folded steel, but what can you do.
It does kind of irritate me that I am forced to put HCI on every weapon to hit 45.
It also irritates me that I have to view myself as a rat man with UOAssist so I can see what tile I'm actually on when flying.
But.. I love the gargoyle weapons. Cyclone, Soul Gaive, Disc Mace, Sword of Shattering Hopes. Speed and special move combinations are great.
Also - gargoyle armor is pretty sweet too. I didn't waste any mod slots on resist points, I was able to put 5 mods on every piece, which is something you can't really do with human/elf armor (besides woodland armor).

Sooooo True! I don't understand how something this basic could be soooo broken. It's even more fun trying to chase down a flying Gargoyle with a Melee character. The Tile your aiming for is always 2 tiles from where they are lol... If you use the Target System though, the Targeting Reticule will touch the ground where the Flying Garg. Char actually is though.. (I think)
45? U need 50%! thx for the idea of viewing myself different I completely forgot about that. GD random funerals that happened in this game screw up my ability to move correctly while flying it bugs the hell out of me!
Gargoyle has a race bonus of +5HCI and cap of 50 so if he does not count the +5 in his original 45 then he will hit 50 heh.

yep even a nekked garg newbie will have 5% hci... so you need 45% in items +5% racial to hit 50.
but the other points are entirely valid. and if you run the enhanced client, you have no option to turn into a ratman.....

I'm another stong supporter of more arties for gargs. That and/or the ability to alter:
- Spirit of the Totem
- Heart of the Lion
- Fey Leggings
- Aegis of Grace
- Captain John's Hat
- Leggings of Bane
- And so on...
The normal and faction versions should both be alterable. I find HCI and DCI much harder to cap on a gargoyle just because of the artie options available to them.
