Is there somewhere an up to date items database sorted by property ?

Something like this on Stratics

Special Items Listed By Property
Items Listed by Property: Index

but complete for all properties (Stratics only has few listed and am not even sure if they are updated with all the most current new items...) and most importantly, up to date with the current new items.

Anyone knows ?

Thanks.

I use these tables although less specific than the one you linked Magic Effects Table
Magic Item Propeties

Thank you but for my needs I would be more helped by a database where I could sort all items by a given property like the Stratics link I indicated.

For example, say that I need to upgrade a suit for Hit Chance Increase, it would help me quite some if I could pull out of an updated database all items that carry Hit Chance Increase assorted by their pertaining slot so to find that particular piece which could help me the most.....

Like the link I gave for Stratics which is, unfortunately, not complete and perhaps not up to date.

I am wondering if somewhere else there is a complete database with up to date informations.

- Yeah dunno.
I made my master sorter with Excel years ago, using UO Assist to snag the item descriptions.
This was about the time that I was trying hard to push Fertbert and MrTact, among others, into making armoires and such that would sort things for us ingame... something that has been agreed by several devs over the years to be a good helper with the complications of AoS item change complexities... something that a few devs have said they felt would be doable ingame, if they had the resources (namely available time / I know they have had the ability) to implement... I always felt this would greatly take away from the obvious complexities and confusion that AoS item properties have proven to be for many...

(just as I've long-thought that changing all item properties to use the same base score for all would help, rather than use all the various bases that are now used (uo calls this Quality Range ~ example: fast cast recovery is 1-3, skill bonus is 1-15.. they should all be 1-100 to lower confusion and ease of understanding... I really felt that MrTact was catching onto this logic when proposing his changes, that disappeared from UO when he felt the need to too. Ahh resources, ahh vision..)

There is one thing I do not understand because I have no idea how Stratics' informations are stored.

My thinking is the following.

Stratics has a pretty comprehendive "items" database (the Items Catalogue) which, I think, comprises all of the items there are and is also updated with the most current ones.

Now, how are all these items stored in the database ? As plain images or the actual items and their modifiers are listed in a format that players could sort them with whatever filter they wanted ?

How much work would it be to revamp Stratics' "items catalogue" Database in a way that then players can retrieve the information they need easily, just using the whatever filters they want ?

The

Special Items Listed By Property
Items Listed by Property: Index

could be very usefull but the problem is that it is partial and outdated.
If it was linked to the "item Catalogue", then entering new items there would automatically also update the Special Items Listed By Property page.

Is it feasible ?

popps - do you know how many hundreds of items there are ingame? And that's discounting marties, arties, heritage stuff and the like.

Look on the magic properties list and see what HCI or whatever can be on. If it can be on armor only, then your field is narrowed to only armor pieces. Your character race will determine the types of armor s/he can wear.

Well, if we count in also "custom made" items (i.e. crafted or imbued) then yes, their number grows esponentially but when I think of the item Catalogue I only think of the items released into the game as artifacts and of some relevance.

The goal is to provide to the player a tool where a player who feels the need to cover certain modifiers, can easily search down all of the major items (artifacts and special items) that carry those modifiers for the slots needed at a level high enough to look usefull and then fill the gaps with custom crafted or imbued items.

But the starting point usually is around certain pieces and these pieces are chosen because of certain modifiers that are wanted.....

So, the starting point should be a database where players can search for what items have the modifiers they most are interested in.

I really like the Stratics'

Special Items Listed By Property
Items Listed by Property: Index

The only problem is that it is not complete, only a few modifiers are linked, and I am not sure whether it is up to date with the most current new items.

Perhaps creating a connection between this page and the Stratics' "Items Catalogue" could solve the problem and complete the "Special Items Listed By Property" database ?

If I remember correctly popps, you created several threads like this one in the past, complaining that stratics doesn't have an updated list of items. Maybe you should help them?

Doesn't Stratics already have all of the data through their "Items Catalogue" ??

UO Stratics - Item Catalogue

If they already have them, what need there would be to again submit them ?

The only need there is, I guess, is allowing the search of the existing database using filters where one can, for example, search for given modifiers.

Ah, so why don't you offer to program it to do that for them? You know the stratrics people have other stuff to do like life and work right? The stuff they do for the site is on their own time. And they been doing a great job too.

Perhaps because different people have different skills and I happen not to know anything about programming ??

Perhaps for someone else who knows programming it would be something very easy to do, I have no idea. Certainly, for someone who does not have a knowledge of programming it is something quite impossible to do........
