Definitely originating in EA's network. I'm thinking maybe a dos attack?

I found a post (below) about another EA game a person complaining back in october on the exact same hop.

According to a quick search around the interweb it looks like the level3 to fert07 (East coast EA servers) is a well known slow down/packet loss connection.
A lot of people complain about this for various EA online games, it could just be overloaded servers.

Well I haven't experienced this kind of thing for at least eight years. I connect at all times of the day and that hop isn't in my traceroute.

This is a known issue that keeps cropping up from time to time.

We struggled with this last year at some point before it was addressed.

It made UO unplayable for many of us for a few weeks until it was straightened out.

I think the specific problem that the East Coast shards were having was fixed yesterday after a few hours. It was either in EA's network, or their service provider's, at "144.223.246.6".
