What happens to the Europa shard?
So much lag that you can't walk. And continuous disconnections.
The other shard are ok. I've tryed only carskills and atlantic but no lag.

I too am getting lag on Europa, last night I spent 40 minutes at the EM event and had to give up as it became unplayable.

Not too sure its anything to do with Europa specifically tho I suspect its more to do with my ISP, Virgin Media. I was ok till a couple of months ago but have had sporadic problems since then.

Stratics and other web sites are slow to load amongst other things which has nohing to do with EA.

I've been experiencing small lag on Europa but I really shouldn't be a data point, I've been stuck with 0.9Megabit internet instead of 6.5 for weeks now. :( Living in Scotland has it's down points! :p

Last year some time, it was suggested that there was a particular route to the shard that had a bad hop on it and the way to beat the lag was to just log in and out until you got a good route. I find it still sometimes works.

Bobar, you have what we called 'the curse of BT'. Despite your provider being Virgin, the fact that BT is still the owner of the telecommunications infrastructure in the UK means that they can still royally screw with your connection by refusing to allow your provider to make the necessary adjustments. Even up here, we're not immune; our internet arrives via radiowaves and a small dish on our house, but if something goes wrong on one of the wireless hops, the guys from the company that supply us can't touch the dishes til someone from BT is present because BT own the masts. And don't get me started on when we hit the cabled connections on the mainland, just don't!

BT suck :(

That is the problem with the Brits, they do not care about the Scots, English, Irish or Welsh or anyone for that matter, they only want your money or care about those with money and of course they also have to be Brits or Brit sympathizers :p:p:p.

But back to the topic, I have been experiencing a lot of lag especially at night, sometimes small spikes, sometimes really big ones, especially around the time of the wannabe invasion, Trinsic was a nightmare for me with lag. Hopefully the Moonglow invasion will be kinder. We live in hope :D

Lol, if I was feeling cruel, I'd ask you to define that :p

The problem is putting any infrastructure into the hands of a company whose goal is profit, not service, and who can't seem to join the dots and work out that the latter will enhance the former! Having said that, despite the fact that they totally screwed up our house move a few years ago, I can tell you that the CEO works 17 hour days, 7 days a week. I emailed him on a Sunday and got a reply within two hours. However, I'm not sure quite what he does, because the service is still crap!

thanks Pinco, only that doesn't show where the packet loss is.
A trace like this (use a 'code' tag), will show exactly where along the route the problem is being encountered. In this case there is no packet loss currently.
Code:

My hubby refuses to post the trace thingy he did but says there's no packet loss/bad hops on it and it's not a problem at our end.

Well, at least Sprintlink seem to have learned that the best way from Milan to London isn't via Washington DC.

For anyone concerned about that trace. I have ticked the option in 'settings' 'skip first hop of traceroute'. My own ip address is NOT shown.

At home iam routed via alter.net to europa and have packetloss on the whole route starting with the first alter.net router. It's not much, but noticeable. My ping is very unsteady between 24 and 140ms.

At work iam routed via sprintlink and suffer no packetloss with a constant 34ms ping.

Been getting the odd lag spike, But I certainly can't see anything too unusual in the traceroute, Although 39ms to the router seems a bit iffy.
