Yet another boat bug .. (SP)

For years i used to fish up the mibs and gate home when iam full with loot, drop the loot into my fishing shack and hop back onto the boat. Now that i had lots of mibs to fish i went out, placed my old style boat, sailed to the first spot and noticed my fishing poles were not with me. So i gate out as usual. Now it said i can't use that feature because i need the high seas booster. Hello? I just placed that boat and could gate down from if since forever. Any now, all of the sudden i need to pay cash for a feature i could use for free for years?

So how do i get back on my boat? I can't place another old style boat because of the same booster limitations. (siege perilous)

They are expensiv here. I noticed another bug. When i try to drop an item anywhere on my boat deck it always drops below my feet and not at the spot i click on.

Kas need to ask you a question. In all the years I have been on Siege I have never gotten anyone to tell me if you can gate off the key back on the boat. As you said the boats cost a fortune even before High Seas. I have been afraid to take the boat out beyond my inlet.

you can't gate on a boat key, never could. You can recall on one.

Not sure how old boats work now, but when we brought it up in beta that you couldn't recall on Siege they made it so that you can gate on a ship rune - though in actual fact it works more like a recall and unbonded pets or followers can't follow you through onto a boat.

Really? I never tried bringing a pet with but it does open an actual moongate when you gate to your boat now. But yeah, before high seas you couldn't gate to boat keys, I thought that was one feature everyone was supposed to get though, not just those with the booster?

You can cast gate on a ship key on siege, with the booster. I can't test on an account without the booster, I don't have one.

If you listen when you go through the gate, the sound you hear when you arrive on the boat is the recall sound and you don't arrive quite where the gate is. You leave the land location by gate, but you arrive on the boat by recall. I guess it's a fudged solution specifically to accomodate the Siege ruleset.

What does that have to do with me playing 2 shards? Would it have allowed me to get back to my boat through the gate i casted FROM my boat, if i hadn't logged in on europa? No, it wouldn't so whats the point of your nonsense spam?

Siege is as much a production shard as any other shard. It is live, you pay to play on it, it is a production shard. The only difference are some minor rules. That's what the term "production shard" is about.

Iam sure i have played alot more on Siege Perilous than you did since iam back to playing UO (not just paying). Keep in mind trolling these forums is not considered play Siege not does it make you look any cooler...

That is exactly how it operates on Europa also, Caught me off guard the first time I tried it.

You couln't gate on any boatkey "back in the days" but as petra just figured out, you can now (since high seas). I just havn't upgraded my siege fisher account with high seas. You could always gate off of a boat tho, risking to have a red/thief follow through the gate.

Anyways thanks to the ferry service of a helpful soul i could get back to my boat.

Doh ..

I just casted gate on the boat key. The gates appeared properly. When using it i heard the recall sound and appeared behind the mast. (On a non HS account). With HS you appear on a random spot on your boat.

So something new learned. I can not use the gates casted from the deck to get back on the boat but i can use gates casted on the key. Sorry for not testing gating on keys before. Tho why should i have tested it when the first gate told me i cant use it. Happens when you are used to a no gate rule for years. Its making fishing way easier but takes away some risk tho. No more thieves following you through gates. No more gating to savespots before gating to the originally intented location.

yep - i would have suggested you get someone who is upgraded to gate it for you.

I gated to my boat and set boat into motion quickly and somehow the movement of the boat caused me to pop back through the gate. so I was now off my boat and my boat was sailing without me?!?

lucky i was fast enough to travel the gate back again and i made it onto my boat

That's kinda hillarious coming from you...i haven't seen your face on SP in the last 4 years not unless you consider farming white pearls being active in the community...i've PvP'ed in some of the best guilds on SP and fought some of the best PvP'ers on SP while you were fishing...just because i troll doesn't mean i don't play SP...

I've played one shard since 1999 that's called Siege Perilous while your playing on a prodo shard taking up space in Luna for a server you just finally came back too...like i said before you was a nobody and i would rather be a has been, then a never was...

Next time you wanna make a comment at least learn SP's history because i'm part of it...

P.S. Keeping a account active to save your Luna pixel crack doesn't constitute actually playing SP...btw enjoy your prodo shard...
