Taken from Publish 69 Notes:

Lumberjacking
At GM Lumberjacking players will have a 5% chance for a Lumberjacking damage bonus of 100% from base weapon damage.

Ninjitsu- Death Strike
Reduced Death Strike damage delay to 3 seconds from 5 seconds and increased damage scale based on Ninjitsu skill. Death strike damage capped at 50 verses players.

I'd still like a higher chance on the LJ damage bump. But the 100% increase to base damage is pretty sweet.

My understanding of how damage increase works is subpar, can someone correct me on my assumption?

Right now with 150 str, gm lj, 120 tact, 120 anat, 100 DI from items, my damage window reads 58-66 with a hatchet equipped. My AI caps out at 190 with EOO/slayer/perfection etc.

So.. at a 5% chance for 100% base damage increase, that means my damage window would be 116 - 132? With EOO/Slayer/Perfection I would have the potential for a 376 damage AI?

Good question. The wording isn't too precise. The formula for PvM damage is:
Total Damage Bonus:
(Percentage )Tactics Damage Bonus + Anatomy Damage Bonus + Lumberjacking Damage Bonus + Strength Damage Bonus + SUM(Damage Increase Items)
Final Damage = Base Damage + (Base Damage * Final Damage Bonus)

If it follows exactly like that calculation, then the base damage would increase along with all the multipliers, so yes it would double.

However, it looks to me like the 300% damage cap would still apply using a slayer. So this would be most beneficial where there isn't a slayer available or when using a super slayer.

BTW, UOGUIDE has the bonuses somewhat wrong and the Stratics calculator isn't working, so had to grab so old docs to get the formula. I think it's correct.

After a quick and dirty five minute test, here's what I've found.

The extra lumberjacking damage is separate from the rest of the damage. Thus, no other damage bonus seems to apply.

The extra damage comes across as an extra red number above the enemy (PvM here, killing Haven creatures).

The extra red number is currently always "1" with a hatchet. (probably a bug, someone else go report it) With axe of abandon, the extra red number can be 1-3.

In other words, you currently have a 5% chance on TC from getting 1-3 extra damage from lumberjacking while fighting mongbats and bandits on Haven.

Joy.

Base damage is the damage a weapon doese without any modifiers.

Say your axe doese 14 to 17 damage. That is your axes base damage. Base damage of an Ornate axe is 18 to 20. So on a ornate axe at GM lj has a 5% chance to get an additional 18 to 20 damage.

Basically it adds a little damage spike.

Lame. I think I'm going to rework my build around the use of a hammer pick then. Better AIs and I can get another skill in.

This is my opion, but I would have liked to see the introduction of a 120 Lj scroll. It would do something like this:

120 LJ:
10% increase in harvesting special wood
20% Damage increase instead of 10%
20% Chance for the Lumberjack damage bonus

Then again I was always one that though 120 Blacksmithing, should give a benefit to Armsman. :D

Hmm, Would that be direct damage or would it be reduced vs say 70 Phys resist?

Well it has to be reduced vs resist.

As for the poster said the extra damage is in red and is always 1... are you sure its not because the creature hit you for 1 damage (which is red text).

In the classic client, with default settings, damage you deal is red, damage you take is yellow.

So....a weapon mod that can be put on any wep is infinitely better than lj which costs 100 skill and is restricted to axes. Makes sense.
