Which, of course means that we've got another change to get more Harvester's Blades.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Turkey Event of last year:
1. Plucked Turkeys can drop as loot from the Giant Turkeys, be gotten when you break a giant Turkey egg, and possibly from the bag at the nest or on the corpse of the Turkey. These Plucked Turkeys are a RARE drop.
2. A Plucked Turkey can be taken to any Trammel (and I think Fel) Butcher NPC, and dropped on them. As a reward, you get the Harvester's Blade.
3. The Harvester's Blade is best described as a "Butcher's War Cleaver on Steroids". IT has the following attributes.
a. If you REALLY want to use it as a weapon, it is imbuable, and is a variation on one of the ML fencing weapons (spellblade?).
b. If used to carve a corpse, not only do you get cut leather like with the Butcher's War Cleaver, that goes straight into your pack, the following things, if present, ALSO go into your pack-
-Dragon/Sea Serpent scales
-Feathers
-Dragon's Blood
-Meat (including raw birds)
c. It also gives a BONUS to the amount you get of these.
-For leather, it effectively gives the human bonus amount* to Elves and Gargoyles.
-For Humans gathering leather, it takes the human-modified amount, and then applies it AGAIN to the resulting number.
-For all other items, all races get the amount modified by the "human bonus leather" for a normal tool amount - something the BWC does NOT do.
*Explanation of the Human bonus amount...
Humans get what is called +10%, but is actually more, about half the time.
The actual bonus is +1 for every multiple of 10, plus 1 if there is a remainder of 1-9.
So, something that gives 10 leather to an elf with a normal tool would give 11 to a human.
Something that would give 12 leather to an elf with a normal tool would give 14 to a human (+1 for the 10, and another +1 for the 2 remainder).
The Harvester's blade takes this one recursive step further for humans.
Humans with the Harvester's blade get the Human bonus above, then the result is then put through the bonus again.
So if an elf with a normal tool would get 10 leather, then a human with the harvester's blade would get 13... (human bonus makes it 11, then the HB bonus is +1 for the 10, and another +1 for the 1 that came from the human bonus). This actually makes the most bonus-efficient thing to harvest with a human, using a HB, things that have the 10 base, such as the various slith varieties, ki-rins, unicorns and nightmares.
10 10-base creatures would give 130
but
5 20-base creatures would only give 115.
