GOING ON 4 WEEKS NO NEW PRECHEST ITEMS,USUALLY GET CHEST ON 1ST CAST OR OLD ITEM THEN CHEST. ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEMM????

I think, If I remember right it is 27 tiles away, never fish the same tile, move one tile right or left after your cast.

My longest run for pre loot is 21 items.

Hm.

When fishing up tresure chests, for each cast with the fishing rod there is a 25% chance to fish up bones or body parts, a 25% chance to fish up shells, barrel staves, globes etc., a 25% chance to fish up paintings, broken clocks etc. and a 25% chance to fish up the actual treasure chest.

First you have to figure out where the new items are categorized. Then you have to count every item you can get in each category. My probability is rusty, so if anyone is sharper feel free to correct the following.

Let's assume there is one item per category, except for bones/body parts. Let's assume that category has fish heads, torso, and skull. You have a 1/4 chance to hit bones/body parts, and then a 1/3 chance to get fish heads. The probability, then, is 1/12 to get fish heads, or 8.3%.

Since every category has more than three options, you're going to hit the 25% chest a lot more often than the exact pre-loot you want. I'd imagine there's less than a 5% chance to get any exact pre-loot item you want, given one cast.

I cant find the source of the 25% chance categorization in stratics, but in each category, there are more than 5 items:

Total of 69 different items.

Uncommon pre-chest loot:
Chest of Drawers

Total of 6 items.

So, even if they make all items to be fished up in equal rate, the chance to catch one of the new items will be 6/75 = 8%. This is the best case scenario, so stay patient, you'll eventually get the new items. Petra's advice will increase your chances greatly.

ok did 5 chests today, stayed off marker as far as i could. got 2 pillows, 1 portrait and a stool. sumin is not right no NEW prechest loot again.

I`ve done maybe 20 sos`s on LS and got ores,table legs and a few other new items. Just a bad string of luck for you.

ive done just over 800 mibs, and i have fished up about 40 of the uncommon items like table legs.

with only 2 fish heads, 4 table legs fished up. and not one of those polkadot bikinis at all.the rest were all chests of drawers and oars. no inside loot has been much better although i think the kelp leggings,dress,bra and bow show up in chests 10 times more then getting a net or vines
