I've been doing the new quests while learning to fish and all is good.Love the Garg and Tokuno boat and the Orc one too.Which brings me to a couple of requests.- Any chance we can get the weight of fish down to 1 or 2 instead of 10?It seems as soon as im out fishing ive filled all my available space and end up having to use a rowboat as a portable trash bin.-Any chance of a new Trammel boat? I know we can use the old ones still but they dont get cannons so their pointless in RP now. My chars are from Trinsic so they dont really fit on any of the new boatsOrc boat - no as we are at war with Orcs.Tokuno boat - no as my chars are from Trinsic not Tokuno so they wouldnt really be on those types of ships.Gargoyle Boat - Erm we only just met the gargoyles so again no we wouldnt have their boats, that and how the hell would you sail them out of the Abyss??? and why have they even got boats, since they can fly and all???What would be great is a new version of the old boats that can house cannons.

I do buy your point, but if you are going RP, the Gargoyle boats, for the most part, are fairly traditional style ships.

gotta remember that Ter Mur was once a much larger land, before it started sinking into the abyss. So im sure they used them to barter and trade across seas :p
Perhaps the Large Dragon Ship of olden days could be revamped? Or just add hold space and a cannon spot or two on old ships and make them craftable by a HS account? player shipwrights would be kinda nifty

*totally agree with lowering fish weight*

hmm maybe the next booster will be High Seas Part 2 wherein they fix part one?

I believe you mean a new Britannian boat, trammel is just the name of one of the moons.

well... the britannia ships are the legacy one...
so seems human and elfs are a savage population which sails with well carved logs :D
even orcs are more technologically advanced :p

I agree. I think it's amazing that humans somehow have forgotten the art of galleon building in Britannia.

I'd much rather have an old Brig style European Carribean ship as my vessel. The only reason I have the Ter Mur style is because it's closest to looking like one.

I think the new Tokuno Dragon ship was probably first planned to replace the old Britannian Dragon ship, but somebody thought afterwards 'Oh we have Tokuno now. Shouldnt a Dragon ship come from there?'

To be honest i'd prefer the Britannian ship to be light on guns and speed but have more cargo hold. This way we have all 3 aspects of the sea covered.
Speed - Tokuno
Guns - Gargoyle
Cargo - Britannian.

Suprised we havn't had any elves on here complaining yet ;)

Elves don't have sea in their "homeland", and besides, they'd probably use all the runics they have stored away to make overpowered magical ships.

Also, the Tokuno isn't actually faster, except when damaged, then it "drifts" faster. So, if the Britannian ship were made the "cargo ship", then the Tokuno ship would be pretty much the runt of the litter, with only really a +1 fishing bonus going for it...

Edit: Would actually be nice to have small variations of ships for each city with a dock.
There's apparently one north of Ter Mur (except you can't place ships), Makoto-jima has one, the Cove Orc Fort has one...

A human and an elf are sipping grog at a seaside tavern.

Pirate Lord Hoban: "Ha, ye elves don't have any vessel in the water that will outpace my galleon, do ye? Three master, eight smoothbore cannon and can peak out at 15 knots! Yet ye elves don't have even a longship do ye?"

Kalaman D'Ari The Spellweaver: "No. We Recall or Gate to where we need to go."

While a minority amongst the Elven race, there were groups of seafaring Elves. In fact if you recall at the end of "Return of the King" the remaining Elves of Middle Earth took Bilbo, Frodo and Gandalf with them on the last ship leaving Rivendell.

Also, I believe Tolkien makes reference to seafaring Elves in Silmarillion and other writings. D&D lore also has some Elvish sailors.

Elves, like pretty much every other fantasy race, are rarely the same across multiple settings.
They're just a template these days, for a fantasy staple...
Tolkien's Elves are quiet serene, almost regal, and detached.
Dragon Age's elves are "a lithe, pointy-eared people, who excel at poverty."
Dragonlance's are... There's a ton of flavours... Vanilla/Wild/Sea.
UO's are... A needy bunch of brightly coloured people who otherwise act the same as humans and gargoyles...

They probably should get a ship, though...
Although not before Britannia - They can get in line, we were here first :p

In another thread (can't remember the title) some one pointed out that frigates have always been a big part of the Ultima series.

It would be cool to see Britannians get a frigate.

elves lives on a tree like bird for all their life before someone open the gate to let them out... so probably they should use zeppelins? :D

I believe i recall reading that the "whale" was supposed to be a britannian galleon, however this is not yet in game and from the looks of things not sure if it will ever be in the game.

I'm an elf and would prefer a nice bass boat with a 150 hp johnson outboard and the ability to have a bikini clad she-elf ski behind it. Forget fishing, I want a hold full of brewskis...

Uh, didn't we have a skiier a minute ago?

I just see a belching Leviathan back there.
