It ended, server-side, precisely at the time indicated it would end.

However, there was a loophole that allowed anyone to Trick or Treat past the end time, so long as they didn't restart their client since before the end time.

If anyone can still trick or treat, it means that they've not restarted their client in the last 70 hours.

I have no idea when it was announced to end, hence the question.

What on earth does ones browser have to do with UO?

Oops - meant client.... Was playing a browser game at the time :)

But, interestingly enough, the client patcher seems to have issues whenever my browsers do, as its window for providing the latest update info is browser-based - I've even gotten my browser's "failed to load page" message in that data window of the client patcher.

As for the date, at least one dev said a couple times when it would end, even BEFORE the official announcement. Try learning to read statements from the Dev Team, why don't you? You might actually find the thing you CLAIMED to look for...

From the 12 Nov FAQ Friday (on UOHerald, linked to from U.Hall)

Q: When is the cut off dates for Halloween Trick or Treating and the 13th Anniversary rewards?
Mesanna: The cut off dates are as follows: Halloween cut off is November 15th – The 13th year anniversary gifts cut off is Nov. 28th

Oh well, missed it then.

But yeah, it uses a browser, which is likely why UOs patcher screen has never worked on Windows 7 64 Bit.

They really need to do something about this.

EA Revives Ultima as Free-to-Play Browser Game

pap! pap! (for LC ... btw)

Basra ... tsk ...the "client" runs in a browser based frame ...
Early >credits< listed the name of the "base browser" as Granny something or other
and, iirc
"the easily customizable granny software license ..."

hmmmmm AH!

Uses Bink Video. Copyright (C) 1997-2001 by RAD Game Tools, Inc.
Uses Granny Animation. Copyright (C) 1999-2001 by RAD Game Tools, Inc.

or

The Bink Video & the Granny Animation >were modified< by the ever popular
Wombat programming Language
(*raises hand* I also thought for the longest time ... that when Dev types were talking about the Wombat codeing challenges ...
[ya know: "spaghetti code"] ... that they were snidely refering to the classic Waste Of Money Brains And Time ... seems not .... )

anyways ... not to put too fine a point on it ... semantically that is ...
"browser based" games refer to the ancient difference of "Dos based"

basically: weather "the game" took FULL control of system resources .... or "windowed"(frames) to allow rapid switching between "applications" ...

Nes pas? :danceb:

by the by:
pap! pap! (for LC ... btw)
Pap! #1 browser based .... acknowledged above
Pap! #2 ? Free to Play >method/format< has FAILED miserably to draw droves and droves of players to subscriber based Mainline UO ....
epic fail >certified< by each and everyone that did not know that there IS/WAS a try at it ....

one of the consequences of tunnel vision in a NICHE ....

I replied to you in another thread, but I think it fell off the bottom.
The patcher thing works fine for me on Win7 64bit

If the page isn't displaying for you, it could be a problem with your IE (which the patcher uses embedded). Try loading Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online Patcher try loading up IE and going to Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online Patcher
There could be a localisation thing. I read something a little back about some system locales not having patch pages, so the patcher tries to visit the page that isn't there.
Otherwise, it could be some form of malware, I guess

Last year the Halloween event was a real "treat," this year, however, it was more like the "trick." It was "over" before it begun.

Yes, it is over. Don't blame me that I didn't give you treats.

You shouldn't have TPed my Silver Saplings and took a dump in my Fountain of Life.

Damn kids.
