Figured id get some more fishing quests done. Most of the docks are filled up with other boats which is becoming very annoying to get ya boat close enough to complete the quest. Atm im sitting at papua docks all the docks are filled with boats, i cannot get close enough for the fish quest to be handed in.

I think boats should be moved like they are moved from the floating emporium.

Well i think me night of fishing quests are done ive paged a gm 2 times now without a response.

I have been recalling to docks successfully, provided I'm on the right subserver. Where was your ship in relation to the dock you needed to deliver at?

i have given up on sailing aswell. Recalling is the only way to do the quests.

Trinsic, Skara, Jhelom are on the same subserver.
Britain is close to the Skara Brae Subserver. Vesper is separate, Papua is a subserver on its own. Moonglow is on the same subserver as the Floating Emporium.

Im in papua i got my boat right behind another boat near the fish monger and he still couldnt see it, i gave up i just cancelled me quest. Ive done over 250 quests now no 105 ps or better , guess im unlucky so cancelling one quest wont make a difference... Thx for the help :)

I still think a timer should be put on boats for sitting at docks.

:( The only time I got the message when I was on the correct subserver was when I'd forgotten to put the last missing fish in the box and the order wasn't quite complete. Not the same situation, sorry.

Very easy to take care of.

When you log out of game your ship logs with you.
But of course thats to hard for them to figure out how to do it
so I say sink them all and when they start asking where's my ship just say,
*Glad to see you back in game been a long time*

what are you talking about?? just hit the land and walk over to him. why do you think your boat has to be within line of site of the mongul?

I like the idea of ships logging out with a player.

I have two ships out in the world (one for fishing, one for getting blown to bits by pirates) that I'm constantly recalling between so this idea would screw that up for me but I would be willing to sacrifice the convenience of it for the betterment (is that a word?) of the game.

Though I have two ships on the water, I do a very odd thing with them when I'm not using them. I usually can not dry dock because there is always one quest or another going on so I find a place way out of the way of everything to park them. Often it will be the shore of a small island a good cry from the traffic lanes.

I never leave them sitting in the ocean if I'm not playing my fisherman or pirate hunter.

After days, weeks even of maneuvering around unmanned ships I feel that I am quite an oddity as far as ship parking goes.

They've soured the Booster pirate hunting by restricting the ability to get saltpeter in sufficent quantity, leaving pirate & merchant ships bugged, and have soured fishing by making the crowded docks problem even worse by making the ships always parked there bigger making actually voyaging to the destination as part of the fun pointless.

I suspect if I do drop back to one account I'm going to email customer service about WHY I've removed billing information and they are going to be getting one less monthly fee.

I really wonder if enough people told EA Customer Service why UO was losing account fees, instead of just posting account closings here, might get someboy in the Dev team an email from thier boss.

It's like talking to a wall complaining here.

Never had a problem with the monger finding my boat, so long as I'm in the right server line. Although when I try to recall back to my boat, I often get a message that says, "your ship cannot be found", when this happens I just recall to another location, such as the bank, and THEN back to my boat again. So it simply may be if you move your boat a couple spots the Monger would then be able to find your boat.

As someone posted above, yes you can easily jump back and forth between some if the Mongers, without haveing to move your boat an inch. There is an awsome map here in stratics, that shows where the server lines run.

You only need to be on the same subserver as the city to do the quest, like has been mentioned.

I just go back and forth between Trinsic and Moonglow (just crossing the server line, not going to the dock).

Start at the Trinsic subserver. Recall to Trinsic, then Skara, then Jhelom- back to ship.

Sail to Serpent Pillars. Recall to Vesper before crossing over, Recall back, flop over. You can recall from where you pop over to the Papua docks, recall to ship, go to other pillar and cross back over.

Sail straight just crossing the 180 line. Recall to moonglow.

I have a mage logged out on a 2nd account at the Floating Emporium to gate myself there. It's just too damn hard to get a boat in there. The sailing, fishing take too damn long as it is, spending 20 minutes to sail through the mess of ships is insane.

From there, go back to Trinsic, make a slight detour north if I need to hit Britain.

At this point, I am of the mindset that it is better time management to fish up 100s of each fish/crab/lobster before continuing on with the quest.

If the ship getting anymore is so irrelevent, then just have the monger crates be put in the backpack and weigh zero even when the order is full. Then delete the big new ships from the game, decreasing the ship mess people leave all over. With pirate and merchant ships left bugged and saltpeter choked down to a trickle, what point do the new ships serve anyway?

Parking lots are full of cars...sorry, had to :mf_prop:

When people need to park their cars, and the city recognizes that space is needed, they build up-wards. Clearly this cannot be done in UO, but how about this for resolution #1. Set the boat distance recognition for the fishmonger a way's past the buoy's as opposed to right near the dock.

#2. Build a second wharf in the sea of equal size, with an appropriate second fishmonger.

#3. Raise the dock platform to allow parking of boats (rowboats) underneath!

Can you launch more than one ship again? Last time I tried it told me I already had a ship deployed. :(

Hopefully not. One per character is to many as it is. Check out the docks.

They need to make it one ship per account and cut down on the storage ships.

I believe it is one boat per char.

Another char on my acct was able to deploy a gargoyle galleon while my fisherman has the smaller one.

I figure as long as I put them against a shore somewhere out of the way before I log the char out I'm not contributing to the congestion.

I don't think I'd like a one ship per acct restriction. Different chars have different ship needs.
The gargoyle ship is great for sea battles but too big for my tastes when it comes to getting around, especially when trying to get to the fish market so my fisherman char doesn't like it.

The smaller tokuno boat is great for fishing but doesn't stand so well under cannon fire so my adventurer char doesn't like them.

Though the fisherman will recall to the gargoyal ship to borrow it if it is closer to the coordinates of an sos. Because he's of the same acct he has full access even though he didn't launch it.
