It was a clear, cool night, and outside of Trinsic the wily Wendwhile Brothers were digging by the moonlight... shovels and picks pulverized the earth.
"Quite a score, quite a score," Willard chuckled. "Who would have thought it would be so easy to steal these items from The Lycaseum?"
Walter grunted as he tossed a shovelful of dirt over his shoulder. "I don't think they are dispatching The Royal Britannian Guard after us, since we did knock over the 'Britannia's Most Worthless Items' exhibit."
Sitting cross-legged nearby, Wilhelm pulled out a yew bow. "Exactly. I mean, really. Who makes a 2 Luck, 5% DI bow with 100% physical damage?"
Walter drove his shovel into the dirt and leaned against it. "Hey, big mouth. Maybe you wanna help us dig this hole instead of sitting on your arse?"
Pulling the string back on the bow absentmindedly, Wilhelm smiled, revealing his crooked teeth. "I already did my part. I'm the brains of the outfit. I picked the place."
Willard also stopped digging and scratched his ear. "Yeah, nice going there. Why did you have us bury it on a damn hill? It's a lot harder to bury this chest, you know."
Wilhelm dropped the bow and squished a handful of Essence of Order between his hands. "It's a matter of planar sight, my good brothers. Should our map fall into the wrong hands, and some doo-gooder wants to come dig it up, he'll fail. Sure, he'll get one dig sound effect, but then the ******** interface will say you can't see this location and abort the dig. Try as they might, circumnavigating the sweet spot, and trying every angle, this infuriating message will come up every time!"
Walter arched an eyebrow. "Wow. That seems like pretty poor programming to me. Wonder why QA didn't catch it...?"
Willard socked Walter playfully on the shoulder. "EA Mythic QA? Ha! A myth. They just wait for the schmucks playing this game to complain."
The felonious brothers shared a hearty laugh, and then Walter and Willard continued to dig into the hill. Wilhelm just smiled and continued to watch, wondering how many more ill-gotten items he could smuggle into his jacket while his dim brothers labored....
