Trick and treat scripted

Today I spotted a person, who abused a certain game mechanic to get trick and treat stuff from about 13 NPC per minute, repeating this definitively for more than 60 minutes and seemed to be unattended - not responding and ultra fast, staying in the same spot besides an occasional recall for getting rid of eval twin). Reported that person, but left at position 8 in the queue for more than 30 minutes around 11 PM shard time.
So it really seems, there is no interest or manpower to stop scripters.

In the UO client under macros make:

Say trick or treat
wait for target
select nearest mobile
current target

Run around and you can trick or treat far more than 13 times per minute.


Not to say they aren't scripting, they probably are, probably have been for years, and probably will continue to do so for many more. Hell I've reported an exploit of game mechanics where someone places a brand new house in a new location everyday using the same account and nothing has been done about it. It seems EA isn't concerned with such things and the only way to level the playing field is to script, speed hack, and exploit along with them because playing legit and reporting cheaters sure doesn't seem to be working.

They have done some things against scripters recently. They probably just don't care that someone is scripting "trick or treat." lol.

There was no running involved, and he was definitively too fast to target his next insta respawned NPC to do that manually for more than one hour.

One hour after reporting he disappeared, but can't tell, if a GM pulled him or if he or his script decided to finish (or backpack was full).

About housing with the same account - no exploit. If you place a house, demolish that again a little bit later and have had no house on that account before placing, yiu can place another one instantly. This is the normal method of dedicated IDOC hunters.

Sometimes because you see someone doin stuff better than you it dosent mean its scripts

I was on my char frito in heartwood and this guy was blasting through trick or treating like id never seen before
I asked in chats and besides the guy who instantly said scripts the guy i saw answered me
He explained how and i tried and it worked!
Turned out to be a really nice guy too he even gave me some begging rares as i do not have begging
Then another guy explained another way to do what i was doin and things worked even better!

Shows there are just players who are really that good and fast out there
I know there are scripters too but people are often too quick to accuse others of this

13 a min and you paged? Your clueless! U can EASILY do more than that by hand with macros in both the EC and CC, but especially in the EC. I swear to god people like you are *$&%&(#$)(#

I can hit 40 plus a minute.

But anyway, I don't believe, that it is intended to use an item on a silent place far of traffic to summon his own NPC, treat it, dismiss it, rinse and repeat. (So not in need of walking to any NPC or keeping timers in mind.)
And not answering to a friendly greeting points also to the assumption of scripting.

Here is an idea, quit being an in game police and let the GM's help people that have real issues.

So, you are saying only report the scripters that are affecting your game experience?

The problem is he didn't know how to use macros. Macros of course are scripted manuevers just attended and using ingame system. Hopefully he reads up on the ability of macros in uoassist,CC macros,EC macros and advanced gaming keyboard-mouse macros. So that limited GM time is not tied up with false calls because lack of knowledge.

If you came up to me while im in the heat of trick or treating, i would ignore you too. Im busy. I have stuff to do. Leave that poor person alone. If they were scripting it wasnt doing much good for them since it was only 13 a min.

Oh my now your gonna page on us that do 4 times that just cuz we know how to set a macro!

ATTENTION!

There are NO cheaters. Anything you might see in the game can be easily explained by people who are NOT cheaters easily. Seriously! You people act like cheating has been a part of this game from the very beginning. I want all the people accusing others of cheating to remember 2 things:

1.) There are only 4 cheaters in all of UO. Same amount of people who played naked thieves.

2.) Anything that can be done with a script can be done with UO assist or a screwdriver stuck in a key.

The developers have the cheating all in check. Anyone you think might be cheating is being watched already. No one likes tattle tales.
