Town Guards on SOTD

Can someone explain how guards work on SOTD? I log in and immediately get killed in Britain and no guards came to help. Thought to return the favor in Skara and get guard whacked right away.

Its my understanding that Britain is the only city with town guards and you much call out "guards" for them to respond.

Forget about guards, just follow the old rule from early UO, never run around with more than you can affort to lose and you will be safe.

Many normal shard players are a wandering treasure chest, that's not very smart on a PvP shard.

That sword is a joke and should be removed asap, it scare many away.

But there is a defense against it, as it break and he only can have one at the time.
Don't go alone, bring friends, who can call guards and guard your corpes until you are back.

Even when Brit is only guarded town, other towns may be more safe.

Also get a mount so you better can stay away from a guy with a glass sword.

I had seen, some just want to show the sword, they are not all insta attacking. One of them asked me if he could try my armor on. I said "Hope not" and left him. But who knows, maybe he knew me and that was the reason he left me alive. Sounds like a former Siege player, who did like to try other players stuff on.

I remember dying to a single fireball in the early UO. I was mad as hell but it did not stop me from playing.

Sure they can, not sure how easy it is to get. He need to stay alive for 30 sec on a dark tower. That give you a little time to get a res and loot yourself.
But if you are with friends, they can kill him if he try to loot before he go to get a new.

I start to believe PvP is very new and scary for you.

I'm running alone, had only been attacked once, was a insta glass sword dead. Lost a few pieces of armor, no big deal.

Had not really been looking for PvP, just trying to get started and place a small dirt spot so my chars can get a place for their shared stuff.

Just play the game, try not to stay to safe to anyone as there is thieves too.

I had played a PvP shard for 13 years, started on Atlantic dec 1997, then when Siege was born, I moved to there.

I had been red for 12 years, started blue and the last time I had been back to blue.

I'm not ready to go red on this shard but that do not mean, that I won't fight if attacked.

To me, PvP is just a part of the shard. One char will PvP, the rest will just die as they are crafters. I hope to bring some nice vendors to serve the PvP community.

I tryed to play in Trammel, I just don't like being safe all the time, it's damn boring.
