There are a few key differences.try to promote siege it is the exact same shard than siege but have accelerate skill gain and glass swords, it just dumb we could have all those people from that shard on siege.
lets discuss
1. There is only Fel, so the much smaller land mass forces more interaction.
2. Items dont wear out with usage ( axes, skinning knives, etc...)
3. No Siege Bless, makes the disarm thief a viable option once again. *evil grin*
4. 7 Character slots... No soulstones needed, and 7 different stat configurations and race choices.
other than that, you are correct... I'd love to lure some people over to Siege... if they can handle full loot on a temp shard, why not on a permanent one?
And yes, the blue swords ( 100% hit chance dealing 10k damage ) is just silly. ( wonder if I can disarm steal one before the auto defend whacks me!?!? )
You can't they are soulbound, can't be traded. It stay with them until it break as far I heard

My only death thus far was a guard whack while trying to raise stealing from a barrel of fish on the docks...
Of course the only docks with anything to steal are in Britain, where the guards are. lame.

The thought though of a new shard with a Fel based ruleset and everyone starting off at the same time is very tempting. If they could actually determine what makes it a classic shard and I guess from what "era or expansion" this shard would be based on it could do very very well or it could also just have the same niche that Siege Perilous fills for people.

According to the notes, you get it by surviving on top of the Dark Towers for 30 seconds.

Also, on use, the weapon breaks. One Shot kills and one use.
Wonder how hard it is to stay on the tower for 30 seconds with Hiding and Stealth.
It only does 10k damage... so if you hit Coon with it, and he resists 75% of it, you deal 2500 ( good enough to take out a GD ), still not enough to kill him in one hit, but very nice damage. Save up 10 of them to clean house, and have left overs for would be scroll thieves.

we use them to kill coon, two swords he is dead...lol
the ruin pvp...real shame too because the first few days the shard was hoppin, crazy stuff, 15 peps try to pk you from the gate to the brit bank.
still fun because there are people playing, most nights 25 peps at the brit graveyard

They could be...but then they would be fighting from a brand new char against people that have been here 10 years+ with hundreds of mills in bank and gear.
New shard means even playing field...people fighting and scrambling to raise funds and skills. Spawns need to be worked and fights happen frequently. Perhaps once everyone gets settled and a few guilds start to dominate it will become a bit stale but up to then its very fresh for people to play.

You can't be hidden on top of the towers to get the sword - davy and I have died many times trying to get it but they are still pretty easy to get considering they kill anyone in one hit.
In any case, from what I understand now, the towers are gone and the only way to get a sword is from the Vampire event. I have to log in and try it out...I'll post up when I know

Don't worry about Kat/Hat. They are still around and will be for some time. They are probably the only people Diablo can truly trust, who would also be acceptable to a TnT person. They'd never scam anyone (Diablo knows this) and anyone in TnT would too.

2x Orcs, 1 Stealth NS DS, 1 Stealth NS *Dismount*
and
2x SL, 1 Stealth NS DS, 1 Stealth *Dismount* *Tamer*
90% Of the Fights I get are me alone, and have the potential to be good fights but you, and the rest of the shard (Basically Anyone who plays) Would rather gank me than Fight me, So Tamer I go.. And Ironically.. I won both those 2v1s.
Theres a Reason i picked up tamer and I dont care what you say, If Im on a Tamer or a Pure Mage (Totally Worthless) Temp, your still gonna gank me because 90% rely on it, So i Pick up one of the best counters to Both Gank and Dismount... The Dreadmare.

But, players chose their own game.
I prefer Siege Perilous as a long term strategy. I am patient. I mostly play solo, but do some group activities... I am never expecting instant gratis. Those going to SOtD want the instant gratis, and you should not expect it.
Please come back to Siege Perilous where you belong.

Not sure what you mean with "instant gratis". I'm playing SOTD because it gives me the feeling of being a newbie again, even with the free advance skill, there is still alot challenge.
I do play solo too and have no problem with that. So far I got a small house plot and I'm now able to make my armor, arrow and bows. There is still long way before I can make my own potions and I don't own a filled spellbook.
Also, I'm not even started on imbuing so gm armor and bow for me so far.
On Siege I'm bored, I don't need anything, on SOTD, I have alot to do.

I LOVED the original shard of the dead. Everytime I'd get a decked out suit (which you got through kills on an opposing "faction") I'd delete the character and do a different template. Only time I have ever had fun pvping as a dexxer. XD This however is kinda lame IMO. With the system being implemented take out the glass POS and let it show whose decent enough to get and keep their gear.

Over the last few years we h e only fought a few times one v one and it is a tie at best
For the last year all you said wS your a support char and you stealthed around
Whenmmyst Mage came back you resurfaced and ran with your Guildies
To your credit you did point out the must was and is wY over powered
To me it's still no excuse to run a tamer...

I personally Hate Myst, The Skill makes PvP Overall boring.
And what are you talking about one v one, Ive maybe fought you ONCE 1v1 since ive been back. (And you were Set up as a Disarm Spammng NSer Btw). -Ignore the One v One part (Reread post)-
I'll be honest with you, I am not "Enjoying" my tamer, I havent logged into siege in over a Week because its a Boring template to play, But on the flip side, I find no entertrainment in getting disarmed 25 Times in a Row, Or Watching as YOUR players Use My tactics against me (Dismount Tamer) Then somehow its an injustice when I do it. (How long as Neo been a STELATH RANGED DISMOUNT TAMER?), Or getting just Ganked by NS DS NS DS x3 Chars.
I play the Tamer because I am God damn sick of fighting outnumbered, dismounted, disarmed, nervestruck, deathstruck, against Pets AND 2+ Players, by myself.
BTW, the Only 1v1 I can clearly remember in the Past.. 3 Weeks, was against Mono on a Myst Mage (** AND I LOST AMAZINGLY **) [On My Tamer]

You didnt' mention our fight........when I fought you on my mage vs your tamer. That was good fight for 15 minutes with a decent outcome.
