Cal - Update is overdue

Cal - Your customers deserve some real answers on what is being done with the game code debacle. None of the smoozy double talk. Who is responsible? Why does this keep recurring with every new thing EA has to sell us? Why does it take days to get a purchase transaction issue escalated to tier 3 support? Are you asking these questions of other EA teams? Are you getting timely answers?

Lastly, are we getting the mushroom treatment?

I have waited patiently now for a week to see these issues resolved before attempting to upgrade my accounts. I refuse to risk the hassle until I feel sure EA has taken steps to correct them once and for all.

U have problems updating accounts? I had no problem, it worked pretty well, where do you try to get your codes?

I wasn't even able to upgrade to SA, my requests for support by e-mail and the help website have been completely ignored ; so I reversed charge on my CC and forgot about it.

When I have trouble, I switch over and use Google Chrome. I don't know if that will help anyone else, but I wish you luck.

Yeah in desperation I tried those too... chrome and firefox... neither would help.

Mind you it's not the first time it happens... I have had so much trouble upgrading to SE that I did not even insist on getting SA.

If I gotta do the same procedure as last time it will cost me a fortune in long distance calls and make me lose a few days over it.

They found a good way to get rid of me, rofl.

Try the online chat support. I've had really good results with it, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than phoning and being put on hold for an hour... :)

I posted to a separate thread about what's going on with the back end of the Login problems players were having.

I know I've personally resolved a few problems with gametime codes and players unable to redeem or get codes.

1) As of last Thursday the EA store was sending confirmation emails with the codes for players.
2) Login issues for UOGamecodes store from the backend have been resolved. I have not received any "fire" PMs in the last few days. If players are continuing to have problems PM me. Usually there are specifics for each account that require additional attention.

As far a a "global" update ... I have a a couple of updates regarding the next publish that will include:

Anniversary
High Seas
Halloween
Live Arc

and ...
Something else juicy

If players are continuing to have gamecode store issues my PM box is open. I have been handling them personally or sending account information to EA/CS escalated.

PM sent, since my card, that they accepted for months if not years before, and is still working just fine everywhere else, is still being rejected at UOGamecodes. Problem for me never has been getting their system to accept my UO account details, that bit always worked. They just keep turning down the money...

Pushed it through EA Customer Support too, and after three replies from someone who really had no idea at all what they were trying to do, got to 'level 3' support who have begun to be helpful and understand the issue - but even they have problems communicating with UOGamecodes, four days after them contacting UOGamecodes even they had to admit "we have yet to receive an update from our store team".

That 'online store' has GOT to either be made effective, or be replaced with something that works. It's clunky, out of date (still no details for the SA advanced character templates!), and riddled with careless spelling and typing errors. It's a terrible 'shop window' for a supposedly serious company. Stuff you are most likely to sell is way down off the bottom of the page, a long series of scrolls down through basically tat like the various rug types to reach stuff that people are much more interested in like the transfer, storage/character slot or advanced character packeges... it's just a mess, in appearance and operation.

Good points. I shudder every time I scan the store for a purchase. Setup and general appearance could be better. Don't even get me going on spelling and grammar ... those were the only to "A" grades in school.

well this might not be a big money maker for EA but it has a long term money maker, sure medal of honor and such make loads of cash short term one hit wonders so to speak

so many people have put 10+ years worth of money into this game which mounts to 1200 each, which is more money that i personally would spend on any one game like medal of honor...

so i gave up and asked a friend from US to buy it and i sent him the the money personally.

i think a lot of players are feeling roughly the same as me, EA cant get rid of the game/it staff for what ever reason, so instead they make players so angry they quite and let the numbers fall to the point where its not finacially viable to keep the game going.

Yes. Unfortunately a "global" update takes a bit more time ... I need to make certain everyone gets out what they would like shared.

I don't just write for myself, I also write for the rest of the team, and to get things as accurate as possible.

Many times we have to hush if something is baking that we don't want to spill.
I have shared this before but it's always very irritating when we see a post of something we are JUST about to release for public consumption and some player inadvertently "scoops us." :)

You should be aware that, quite likely, some of that is due to your PMs being full for several days. I pointed this out in another thread as well. Three times I believe.

Please no more cryptic hints. I've soured on those since the time Darkscribe dropped hints that became the still-unfinished new client. And I soured on them even more after it was leaked that Darkscribe thought he was gonna be working on making UO free-to-play, and then had to simultaneously backslide into the new client, and the Ophidian War, at the same time.

Thank Cal, I try PM cal and he try to help... But after four day of trying I give up....... Thank god my friend in japan got for me the code. That why I feel the love in Japan :lol:

But no doubt Cal was very helpful, I think the traffic load was the big problem.. But no doubt it should improve... Uogamecode really dun like me... Having loop and loop whenever I trying to login and buy.

this is one for you guys i tryed buying high sea upgrade code ever time it keeps comeing up the billing info is diffrent to your address so i kept going back and checking this happened 23 times so i found another web page were i got the code when i checked my bank account i was missing over £280 pounds when i went in to bank thay brought it up it showed that uogamecodes took the money every time thay took my money and kept it i had to phone them all thay said was will upgrade you account for free i told them i have all ready upgraded thay did not offer me ANYTHING now i have to wait for them to release my money back to my bank account so guys

then when you call EA customer service or e-mail them, they say a gm is unable to refund lost or stolen codes.... Please make a post on stratics and the player base might be able to assist you....

That is not exactly true.
When the boss of the customer department scans messages sometimes and asks for pms.

By allowing people to post Stratics is possibly helping solving the problem

Stratics has BECOME the EA Cusotomer Service center, like it or not. Cal using Stratics PMs as communication medium and threads like this to talk to customers. Looks like you guys didnt even notice.

7 days to Halloween. To the people who have off Sat & Sun sorry you will not be able to do this before Holloween hits. Sure wish UO would think about the working people that play UO more on thier days off because they have more free time to play.

Sad that UO is waiting so long to turn this on.

I had to do this also.

I can't get UO's site to allow me to upgrade any of my accounts with windows. No problem at all with Google Chrome.

Something seems to have moved at UOGamecodes, for me anyway...

I know Cal and Customer Support have been pushing them, and just in case anything had changed I tried my card there a few minutes ago, and it got accepted right away and I had a High Seas code within seconds - so it looks like it's working properly again, for me at least!
