Rare Dragon Colours Now... Or Bug...?

Hello all, strange tale today! Someone was asking on Europa about a mysterious Purple Greater Dragon he possessed, but he didn't know where they came from. The mystery increased further when he mentioned it was actually over on Chesapeake; I went to see it on an old character I made for some reason there years back, and it is indeed one-tone Purple.

I edited the image only to include the stats; notice it's definitely a Greater Dragon, but it's also fully trained, which indicates that it's one which has either become Purple, or been trained pretty hard in the last few weeks.

In the classic client, it looks like this;

As I logged into that client, the owner a player called Drakemore also suggested it might have been from a bug. He doesn't have an account here apparently, but was thinking of selling it for 200m - 500m. I mentioned I didn't think it would be a wise buy, as if it's a bugged unique the Devs might just find and revert it. However I did also find a thread on the Tamer forums which indicated that the Devs were not going to bring in Pet Dyes, but were considering widening the scope of rare coloured pets. So do we know anything official, or just more solid than rumour as to where such a GD could have come from?

I could be wrong but I think this has something to do with Medusa petrifying pets. I wouldn't advise spending that amount of gold on it.

Ha! looks like it has green tufts on it's head from placement wrt grass - that'd be neat if they did have tufts that could be custom dyed with the rare (or regular?) hair colors. sorry - just caught me silly bone

Yep... old Medusa bugged pet. The problem causing them has been fixed, but the "Prepatch" pets are still an odd color.

Will they loose there colour if they die [can test it at server down]? Or are they permantly died that colour? Pretty need colour
