Rarity on books from Garg Quests

I have been doing the quests trying to get a set of books. I have ran across 3 different types, normal (all colors) ... Collector's Edition (white) ... and First Edition (black)... Some I have told about the first edition thought I was lying until I showed them so that got me to wondering how often each type spawn. Anyone have any idea?

There are actually 4 types of books.. Regular, Collectors Ed, First Ed and Limited Ed. I believe the Collector's are always white, the First Ed's are Black and the Limited's are a brown/beige color.

The Book of Ritual is Kodeks Rit, which is written in Gargoyle. I wonder if what you have is a translated copy by a player. The official books stop their pages where they end, if I'm not mistaken, so you can check this out by checking the number of pages.

Nah, not a player copy. Actually got it from Percolem Quest. Author unknown and stops at the third page just like Kodeks Rit too. Thanks tho, guess all the garg language books have standard versions too. Cool.

I'd be happy to add more numbers to that old spreadsheet I started earlier this year to try to help determine which books/editions are the rarest.

If you've been collecting the books, just cut and paste the list below into your own message. Then either highlight the whole list and click on the little "#" icon where you see the other message formatting buttons to "wrap" the whole list or do it manually by inserting a "CODE" command (should be in the square brackets though) at the top of the list and a "/CODE" command (again, needs to be in square brackets) at the end of the list.

Once you have the clean list copied, just substitute the appropriate letter(s) on each line for the hyphens to indicate which edition(s) of each title you have. (F = First Edition, L = Limited Edition, C = Collector's Edition, and P = plain/normal edition.) All we're going for here is to know if you actually have a particular edition of a title, without tracking actual quantities. The bar graph under the second tab of the document will help show visually which editions of specific titles have been most elusive. One of the developers commented about a year ago that there's definitely one title that is rarer than the others. (My guess is that it is the "Third Age of Darkness" but I could easily be wrong.) I gave up a long time ago trying to track down that comment though. LOL Can't remember now who even made the comment.

That's odd that you havent received ballooning. I have both ballooning and third age, so if you have the rest, that confirms the 37 normal.

It would be nice to get information from a lot of other people as well to confirm if there really are very few first edition and limited edition drops.

Just based on the information people have already provided, first editions have never been seen for 28 titles; limited editions have never been seen for 20 titles; collectors editions have never been seen for 9 titles; and no one has seen a plain edition of The Third Age of Darkness.

I agree, Yalp. I'm not even sure where my books ended up after I quit in July. I think a bunch of mine were on a boat on LA that I'm sure is long gone by now. It's silly that looking at that damn chart is making me feel like starting to play again just to do those darn quests to see which books I could get. Not that I want or need them or wouldn't just put them on another darn boat and let it sink too.
