Seriously, this thing is incredible. The more I notice the small things, the more impressed I am with it. I just (Yes, JUST) noticed that if you mouse over a BoD, it even tells you what rewards are possible for filling it. This, with Intensity color coding and the font.. HOW is this not standard product yet?

I know it's not an effort of your labors alone, so this is a complement and thanks to all who helped. Absolutely fantastic work, good sir, and to all others involved for their part.

For everyone else, even if you don't use the Enhanced Client, but have it on your system, download it it and try it. Play around with it's options. Even if you hate the graphics of EC as I do, you will LOVE this mod. It's basically the only thing that makes the EC tolerable for me.

EC templating is one of the best things the devs came up with, and the UO Modders Exchange works hard on putting out some great stuff.

The Lucis UI has some nice features that aren't in the Stone Enhanced. I use both and hope the two can "merge" features. I just can't imagine all the work that Dermott and Lucitus put into these. Great job guys, and thanks!

Because stratics isn't offering it, it's not approved? Wtf? Stratics isn't the official UO site, you know?! Just a fansite among others.

Also it is not a 3rd party app - it's no app at all, but a bunch of files that replace and/or extend the EC. Which is completely legal btw.

The devs stated explicitly that modding is fine, heck, they purposely designed the client so, that modding is possible.

So as a wise man once said: "If you have no clue what you're talking about, just stfu!"

It's a UI mod which is perfectly legal and the EC is designed to be moddable. Mythic were even so kind as to give you all the documentation with the EC telling you how to do it.

And yes, Copper Enhanced is really nice, it's the one I use (a couple of graphical tweaks aside).

The devs have approved the creation and use of custom UIs. This was true for KR and it is now true for EC.

You and Lord Chaos ignore the fact that any code that passes through the EC client is permitted and controlled by Mythic. The LUA code is very restrictive, but not so restrictive that creative people can't do amazing little things that add to the client.

It's not a standalone executable with it's own rules that anyone can make up.

And if you can get HALF of the stuff that UOAssist can do through a LUA mod, you let me know, and let Mythic know. I'm sure they'd be VERY interested in hearing about it.

That's quite off topic. The point is to thank the Modders for offering us free Mods to use with the EC client, that anyone can choose to use.

No ruffled feathers. Mythic is just making sure they don't have to "support" mods they didn't write. Mods are perfectly legit to create within the parameters Mythic gives us for the EC. They even supplied us with a very nice help file, explaining how to make mods.

I am a big fan of the Modders. Like or hate the EC client, if someone denigrates the fine work work the Modders do, that is FREE and available to anyone, then a lesson in manners is needed.

Wow!!!!!!!! I just installed the Copper Enhanced to see what all the fuss is about....and WOW it is awesome. Thanks for the time and effort that obviously went into this mod. I thought the EC alone made the game much easier to interact with and more fun--this Copper Enhanced MOD just makes my day!

I resisted the EC for a long time, but was eventually forced to make the transition because the EC runs smoother on my laptop than the CC. Once I figured out how to attain 1:1 perspective and installed the Lucis Interface, my opinion of the client changed dramatically. I now use the EC 80% of the time.

When I started with the EC I used it maybe 10% of the time now I use it 99% and would never go back to using CC all the time !

Yes, unzip into your UI folder, but be minding of having too many nested folders. Your folder structure should look like this:

UI > Copper Enhanced > Files

Not like this

UI > Copper Enhanced > Copper Enhanced > Files

Once the files are unzipped and in the correct folder, start the Enhanced Client. On the login screen, there is a drop-down menu for UIs. Choose "Copper Enhanced" and log in as usual.

It will still work you just need delays between each corpse open attempt

Thanks to everyone who's finding the UI packages useful, but I'm by no means the only one deserving here. All I've done is the textures, a little reformatting in XML and putting the pieces together.

Some others who deserve credit as well:

Zym Dragon who has helped me a LOT with textures, concepts, and ideas. I think I've bounced more texture ideas off him than anyone else. He also recreated the original UO font from scratch (which even in a "rough" version is a MUCH better version than the one that's been floating around online). He also helped with some icon work (notably the stat icons)

Gildar/Illandril who did the gruntwork in getting the UI Mod packages we had designed in KR to work with the EC and creating a modular system in which to add them... also responsible for hosting and running the Exchange itself.

PGCD who created the Item Evaluator mod which gives us a LOT of good item tooltip info (DPS on weapons, Imbuing values, BoD rewards, etc)

Ash of Sonoma who originally wrote many of the mods that were introduced during the KR run and ported into the EC.

And of course Lucitus for his work as well (and hopefully some work in the future).

I'm sure I missed several more, but I really don't want to take all the credit.

I've got a new one in the works that I think people are going to enjoy, but I still have quite a ways to go on it. It will have some features that some people will find very familiar as well as the Enhancements found in the current packages.

The praise is appreciated, but please extend it to all the modders as they've done a hell of a job.

We started the whole concept during KR after the initial batch of post-release patches ended as a way to "user-patch" the client where we could when it seemed like the devs weren't showing any progress on the client and have brought that forward to the EC.

Personally, I wish we had more people doing UI mods for the EC to make the packages even better than they are now and even to give people more customization options graphically.

It's legal as others have already pointed out, and I seem to recall a dev member posting or chatting about general info concering mods and whatnot.

The UOA comment though... A lot of those who claimed back then to not use it or similar apps were being a bit dishonest. Not all, but a fair amount.

The statement in red was required by the Devs in order for the Exchange to be qualified for the Fan-Site program (which we are proudly listed on UoHerald) to note that support for the UI mods from the Exchange comes from the modders and NOT the devs. If there's a bug with a UI mod, you will have to contact usat the exchange (here on Stratics works as we're mostly from here so one of us will see the issue).

When we started the Exchange during KR, I personally contacted Jeremy (when she was community coordinator) about the site and what we were doing to gain oversight so that we made sure the mods we created were legal and to date we've never been contacted about any of them.

As for UOA, I can only speak for myself in that I never used the program.

The EC client was built to be modified though, It has settings to apply them even and the lua code - I'm sure UOA wasn't even expected when the 2d client was launched.

Yes just in last few weeks tried to get EC to work.

No it didn't. Wraping a turd in gold foil does not make it taste like chocolate.

Same issues of dieing and noone seeing your ghost and having to relog on 2d for a rez. The target last location of EC not targeting half the mining locations still or having to stand in special area just to rehit ones EC does reach. Huge clutter issue when in heavy mob/corpse/player game times. And the list goes on.

Once the plants I started are done be back to 2d 24/7

Those that don't wear glasses have all tried someone elses glasses on. Once you take them off your eyes have to unscrew and refocus. Thats the feeling I get everytime I have to switch from EC to 2d. Those hardcore EC people try logging on 2d again right after shutting down EC and see............better.

So yes I am out the loop an any the extra info and bennies of EC. It is still to much like a unicycle. It takes and extra effort to have any fun. That is why the population of UO that don't live and breath on a computer will still need and use 2 wheels. I became unretired and work limits my time online. I was doing the 12-18 hours a day game time when retired. And when you see and do it all in the end I got sick of competing with scripters. And seeing a recall miner in the royal city OR doing a BOD run in one the dead cities to see players One/Two/Three/Four/Five cycle logs just keeps me unretired. Or that 40$ a month I'm down to maybe worth taking up fishing or golf.

And I love the old "Fanboi" insult. If you think anyone does a good job, or something is good, then you are automatically a "fanboi". Because we all know it is just so much cooler to never have anything good to say about anything. It just makes you so much more 733t.

The EC works very well without mods. However the mods make it even better, and that's what mods are supposed to do. I love mods, that is one of the best things about the EC, that you can mod it without it being called a cheat.

I am no fan of the EC client, but Dermott I must say the mod you created is indeed very wonderful. It has a lot of polish going for it, that's for certain, and I love the ability to use classic fonts.

I know this is a labor of love for you and it shows. If they ever decide to make it so the world doesn't oddly 'wave' as you walk, they redo many of the pre existing KR graphics and finally fix the paperdoll issue people have loathed for well over two years now this would be the mod/ skin of choice for me. You've done an excellent job... all of those who have created mods, in fact.

EC is still considered Beta so of course its not going to work perfectly on all machines. I say All Machines because few people realize that your computer might be the problem. Copper is the first UI skin/mod ive tried with EC. ive been using EC and 2dw/UOA about equally since the first major patch after SA dropped. The only trouble ive had with EC is the occassional cant pick up/move items bug. (which also happens with CC/UOA)
Another thing is people think they should be able to dive right into EC and run it as well as CC. you gotta relearn stuff and learn new things with EC and It can be hard to do when youve played CC for so long. Instead of installing EC, patching it, loading up, trying to set it up like your cc and failing and then whining that its buggy, maybe try asking questions and looking into the EC resources that exist all over stratics.
So if you have some issues with EC (I mean real issues not problems caused by your own ignorance, like not understanding macros etc.) maybe you should just stay with CC/uoa until you get your computer fixed/upgraded to handle Ec.

If you ever catch me trolling it's against the ROC so please feel free to report me. In the meantime, and until such time as I start racking up the infractions I in no way shape or form belong in the same camp as Lord Aran, or even you for that matter.

And if that comment was directed at me, which I suspect it was, I am a fan of the EC, but I am painfully aware of most of it's many imperfections, and I have submitted dozens of bug reports and made many suggestions as to how it could be improved. I don't fall into the camp of those who might blindly say that the EC is perfect in every way either, in fact I don't know of anyone who does.

The only thing I would say is that I think new and returning players should give the EC a real try before they get used to the CC, because based on my six years of playing UO on the CC and my year of playing UO on the EC, I think the EC is the better client, even if you use the CC with UOA. The only people I would recommend the CC to are those who have really old computers, or are playing UO on something like a netbook.

Copper Enhanced is GREAT, I loved the EC before but this is icing on the cake!
