Here's the red and white soulforges in my house:

And here's the black one in my friend's keep:

I dyed all of them with stains, except for the red ones, they are made with bloodwood I believe.

I prefer the bloodwood to the red tokuno dyes. There's so many color options with staining too. The fire red stain looks exactly like the fire tokuno dye, same with the white and black looking like their counterpart tokuno dye. Too bad we don't get a full set of stains on test.

EDIT: actually, comparing your screenshot with mine, there seems to be a slight difference in the blacks...

So do you dye the deed or the soulforge once its placed?

If you compare the stains in the bottles, the stain black is also slightly warmer than the Tokuno black.
The white does loo to be the same, which answers another question of mine.

I have the Tok blue monstrosity in my house and the color looks great. I just wish they would tone it down a bit (the size I mean) I have to squeeze around it every time I go upstairs to get something.

hi, can anyone clearly tell me whats needed to craft a colored soulforge?

from things i've read elsewhere and in this thread these things are required:

  1. 100 carpentry
  2. 75 imbuing
  3. Must use Oak boards
  4. Use "Stain" - do you mean NATURAL DYE?
  5. Dye the deed before you place it

Is this correct?

I've tried dying soulforge deeds I bought in Luna with both natural and tokono dyes and it doesn't work. I'm guessing they either didn't make them with Oak wood or I still don't understand what a "stain" is.

Thanks

Yes a "stain" is a natural dye, and the Soulforge has to be made from any wood other than plain. plus you have to dye it before it has been placed the first time.

I think you can't dye deeds once you use them for the first time because they then become blessed.

That probably has something to do with preventing the add on from decaying.

For the longest time I wondered why some low end furniture add on deeds were blessed and some not and why furniture even needed to be blessed.

This thread reminds me... Why in the bloody hades, knowing that this object would at very least retain the wood colors it was made with, did they not do a multi-hue? I can see them either making the columns color-change, or the "light" in the center color change, or some range of whatever (they could have done it very carefully in a few different ways)...

Instead... the whole blasted thing hues, and, well, looks... bad.

I have seen various coloured soulforges, but my favourite is the one in my chateau which was dyed with 'plain' plant dye.

You can 'goza chop' it, as long as you keep at least one of the large anvil pieces. Here's the one on my Siege shop roof:

Exactly how do you "goza chop" a soul forge to get just the anvil? I've never used gozas to chop any deeded item.

There are a variety of 'how to' posts in the homes and castles forum, but basically, you lay a carpet of square goza mats the size of the item, in this case 4 x 4 = 16 in total. Raise them up with a decor tool being careful to keep them all level (about 6 times if I remember right). Then you place your add on on top of the goza carpet.
Next target one of the gozas (you can usually see a tiny piece of at least one) lower that until the item breaks, chop the pieces you don't want with an axe and lower the pieces you do want to the floor.

thanks for the answers! how did they get the deep red/black one? is that bloodwood, or is that a particular dye?

actually you dont need to save a big anvil. i dont have a screenshot cause i just moved to a new house but i goza chopped my last soulforge and only saved one of the pillars. it looked pretty cool. i was gonna try to figure out how to do the pillar in the red, and then put a skull or something on top. the pillar i saved would be the southeast one in game (closest to the viewer in 3d)

There are so many really creative people doing so many creative things in this game. This is why I keep playing this game. I just love looking at the stuff people create. I hate it when people make a really creative house and then make it private so you can't see it.

They look ugly cus they are HOOGE! :(
from what petra explained we no longer have to have huge soul forges :)

There is a one tile one that drop at one on the new champ spawns i believe that is just the center part of the soulforge.

Sorry, I messed up. It seems there's a problem doing this if there's another floor above. Mine is on the house roof :(

BTW the item you get from the lich spawn is decorative only, it doesn't function.

I think you better take that question to the homes and castles board, there are people far more expert at goza chopping than me there.

I think that would work, you'd need to lock down the pieces you'd kept though. Sarsmi would know.

As Petra suggested, I would confirm in the Homes & Castles forum. I believe if you chop an add-on, you need to lock each piece down so it is not destroyed when you go into custimization mode. I was told that, though, I haven't actually tried. I know if you don't lock it down, the add-on will be removed, destroying chopped add-ons.
