Stop accusing me. [Mindframe]

For who it concerns. I've only been on this shard a short while, I don't play here often, yet for some reason everytime I log in I get accused of being someone else. Within 30 minutes today I was accused of being someone called Fade, someone called Semaj, someone called Dead Pool and someone called EV. I don't know any of these people or what your problem with them is or why you think I'm them.

I have three developed characters, Despair is my crafter, Mindframe is my Necro/Mage, Necron is my Tamer. The rest are a mix of skill holders/trainers and xshard characters and a few from years back that I keep just for holiday gifts until I need the room. For a short while I had a sampire also that has since been transfered off.

I've (for obvious reasons) edited out my account name from the title bar and taskbar.

Well one problem is that "Necro", and other adjectives and objects related to evil and death, are exceptionally common online, and amongst teenage boys in general, so it's entirely possible that you're not even the 50th Necron on Europa; It could be a genuine mistake for someone else who does have a character of that name...

However, if you're the Necron who was online at the end of last week, the very first day I saw you in General you were constantly trying to pick verbal fights with everyone else, and generally trash talking and being obnoxious... but here's the thing, we've already got plenty of that kind of person on this shard too, also with "evil" names, and people are automatically going to assume your an alt of one of them. Partly because the negative, oh-such-a-bad-boy attitude is as old and worn out as the internet itself, so being absolutely nothing new, people will make the leap to assuming it's not anyone new either; but also because the thought that hundreds of people are that sad is just too depressing, so people tend to automatically hope that it is just one or two people with hundreds of constantly rotating alts instead.

But, just be yourself, and people will get to know, and not mistake the real you for anyone else. If you're worth knowing overall, as the person behind the account, they'll remember all the names on that account fondly too. Or you can be aggressive and people will just lazily pigeon-hole you, because why bother waiting for subtleties tomorrow when they aren't worth the annoyance right now...? As indeed I was subtly hinting at to that particular "Necron" last week, until he went off on a rant about not being able to write coherent sentences and I just left him to keep digging himself in deeper... and as you've discovered now, the name "Necron" isn't exactly given a fair go this week, is it? Unfair on you, if you're not him of course... but you've got lots of other character names there; if they get a good reputation on Europa, people will accept your own Necron too, once they see it's also you.

I think you miss the point, its nothing to do with reputation, how my characters act in game are down to me and I happily accept whatever that results in - the point is those other names are not me - I don't know if they are known positively or negatively. The topic was people accusing the character Mindframe of being those other people. Nothing to do with Necron.
