please get your head out of you posterior opening. I am tired of getting the message "UpdateAce could not locate update servers" every few days. I paid you for a service, how about making sure the damn thing works more than half the time.

Doesn't uoassist still work even though it can't connect to the update ace?
If you were to criticise assist for anything, surely it would be for not showing the mysticism power words (not that you can even see the mystic spells being cast most of the time anyway as it snaps into the system message loool bad bad game)

Change your settings so that it only updates once per day.
It will keep trying for 10 times, on the 10th failure UOA is disabled till the next successful update.
To be honest I expected to lose UOA at around the time KR went live, so I appreciate each day it is still there. Yes we all paid a fee for it, a one time fee. I don't expect it to continue to work forever for that price any more than I expect a toaster, kettle or iron to work for more than a few years.

Wow, you sure do sound angry for plopping down a whole *gasp* 14.99 . I'd hate to be a salesman selling you a car where you actually paid a substantial sum of money . You ever taken a guess how much cash tugsoft has brought in from that silly little program. It's not my fault that UO has gone on longer than anyone planned....he made it, sold it and should honor the purchase. Even if its just 50K UOA's @ $15 he sold I'm sure there is enough left over to keep a server going to patch.

It would not be that big of a deal with me if it were not for EA/Mythic mandating us to use ONLY that one to be "LEGAL". To me it doesn't matter what the price is (they are the ones that set their price), I pay money for something, I expect it to work each and every time I go to use it. If it doesn't I trash the thing and get a new one OR something better. Sadly, there is not another option for classic client.
Yeah, you would hate to be a car salesman if I were the buyer. Especially in the economic times here in the US.

I think its safe to say well over 50K of them have been sold but even so its a cool $750,000.00 brought in. I'd agree that the trickle has slowed over the years but if he's willing to have the "buy it now" section still up and running it has to be supported.

if youre gonna direct that anger anywhere, it should go to EA
try to convince friends to play UO and explain to them they need to pay an additional 15 bucks for a 3rd party program that fills holes in the games client, that they don't bother to fix, because the 3rd party program exists...
think about that for a second, going on 13-14 years and you still cant make a macro to chug potions in the classic client?
heck they dont even have their own forums

You are correct. I guess my frustration with this set up is truelly at EA. I've brought this up before as another one of the reasons I believe some other free programs are in such use but it tends to get brushed off here on the forums. I'll second the /thread

These issues have popped up many, many times in the 11 years I've played and been on these boards. It's amazing how many people will forget from one instance to another.

That's a pretty positive attitude. You'd think EA would have already done that by now though.

when your updater dont work, try and head for:
http://p3nw8sh064.shr.prod.phx3.secureserver.net its the UpdateAce server assist use supposedly, assist use it anyways.
if this does not load, you will get a standard ie "page cannot be displayed", or firefox "unable to connect to server" if it doesnt work.
and if it dont work, please head for:
http://97.74.215.4
you will get a webpage saying file not found and asking if you want to upload some, if it works.
if the last one work while first one dont, then i got the solution
