I started playing UO just over 3 years ago. During the first 6 months or so of play I needed help from a GM twice. Both times there was a GM who replied to me and the problem was solved within minutes if not sooner!!! Yay!!
Since that time I have tried to contact a GM 2 or 3 times- and all I have gotten are the "canned responses" and that is after more than a two hour wait. None of the canned responses have yet to fit the problem that I had. On one incidence I had sent multiple requests to talk to a GM after I kept getting a "Canned Response" that did not fit my problem. After 6 plus hours- I gave up, and sent an issue report by email so that I could find the answer for my problem. I waited for days on end for a reply, when the email finally came thru, it was yet another "canned response" but this time by E-mail.
I see over and over in stratics, on how people cannot get a GM to help over the last couple years. Unless of course you get a lucky roll. I mean getting help should not depend on luck and hours and hours of waiting to get a web page thrown at you that has yet to help anyone.
Can we not have our own designated GM's for UO?? Someone that knows how UO is played? Someone that can speak English? Someone that can actually speak to the game player and see what IS the problem? I would think it would take a lot less time, and us the players would be much happier to boot. There has been a rash of players getting banned for things that GM's didn't even seem to understand. Why can't we ban GM's from UO who do nothing but send us unrelated web pages to our problems, and waist our valuable game time.
I was in cue #8 the last time I paged for a GM, after waiting two hours, I was still # 8 in cue. When I was rounding up on 2 hours and 45 minutes, (still in cue # 8) I suddenly get the infamous "canned response". That simply leads me to believe that the GM's are spending and waisting all their time looking up the closest to appropriate canned response they can find, or they are on a really long lunch and just keep pinging the "you are in cue #8 for help".
Granted this may be a little out of your department, not sure, but there is a definate problem between players of UO and support. Its one of the biggest complaints I see, and hear talked about, other than "Old Bugs" that just don't seem to get fixed... But, in having said that, if "we" the players, ever got a chance to actually talk to a GM they may have a better idea on what those bugs are and how to fix them!!!
