Any chance of sorting a Townhall meet for Tulsa USA in the next 10 weeks?
I just been told by the boss i'm flying out there from UK to work for 10 weeks and would be great to actually attend one of those meets.

PS, anyone got any travel tips or places to visit in Tulsa?

You must have done something bad to get sent to Tulsa. Sorry to say there isn't much here to see or do. Depending on when you get here you might catch the state fair or there is always some festival such as Octoberfest which you can check the local paper to see what is going on. Other than that there is a Native American museum that might be worth seeing.
There are also several casinos around Tulsa ran by the Cherokee, Creek, and Osage Tribes if your into gaming.

The weather is actually starting to cool down now. Today its only going to hit 99 F (37 Celsius) and the rest of the week it will be in the mid 90's, and usually the weather will hang around that range until late September when it starts getting into the upper 80's and rain.

I am actually from Texas, but we manage some properties in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Lawton so I have been visiting regularly. Oklahoma City is not too far from Tulsa and has more things to see and do - but overall, I have found all three cities to be rather relaxing and laid-back compared to other areas I have been to. Of course that may just be the recent summer heat sapping everyone's energy...

Bring clothes for HOT weather! August can be like standing in front of an open oven set on high... September is not much better.

You won't have any problems with internet connections. I work in Tulsa about 4 weeks out of the year. If you prefer, PM with a basic location of where you are working and I should be recommend a hotel with a decent (for a hotel) 3 Mbps or more connection.

There are some decent BBQ joints around, but you'll need to check the paper for what's going on every weekend. You'll probably be too early for the fall color change but a trip to the Ozarks in MO or AR would still be worth it. if you have weekends off, take a drive up to Kansas City. More to do and see there.

Ohhh and Tulsa seems to be the headquarters for the bible belt. You'll see lots of huge churches and universitys there. Home - Oral Roberts University - A Christian College, based in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Hope you're planting some trees to offset that carbon usage.

From texas here also, we had 107 degrees yesterday, so once you're here, you'll understand why we all move so slowly. Wife is from Lancashire, I'd Much rather be there right now.
Really? we had 7" of rain today so far and it's only 3pm :)
English summers, you gotta love them. 2 weeks of sun per year if were lucky. well up north where i amthe normal colour of the sky is grey.

I will concur that it is hotter then the hubs of hell! I just got back from a week in Lawton and the average temp was 105 with a heat index of 115-118 every day. Funny thing is when we were headed home and crossed the Oklahoma/Kansas boarder the temp went from 100 (at 9pm) to 74 in about 15 min!

Ohhh My ..... wish I could be more help on Internet connections, but I have never stayed in or around Bristow. Closest I have styed would be Tulsa / Broken Arrow.

I wish you well on your trip, rural, small town Oklahoma will definately be a change of pace.
