Pacific Server Down Time?

Does anyone know what time Servers went down on Pacific yesterday (Fri.) morning. It looks like I just lost two bonded pets due to server going down. I thought I had logged out well before server down, never saw a message saying that server was preparing to go down. And never got disconnected from server....

It really sucks losing two bonded, trained pets, apparently to being unaware that server went down.

What pets were they? Did you check the stables? Sometimes pets will be autostabled back into the stables. Where did you logout and what time precisely?

Logged out at around 7:52 my time which would be about 4:52 Pacific Time. Did the usual, checked stables- nadda- checked follower slots- showed 1 for my ethy I was on- went back to ogre lords where I had previously been. Nothing.

Pets just gone, thought I had been back at my house with pets stabled more than five minutes before server should have gone down. Never saw the two minute warning, never saw the message that servers going down soon.

That is why I was wondering if servers went down earlier than usual yesterday, as I read alot about people losing pets at server down time. So I guess a tamer has to log out extra early compared to other peeps to try to keep their bonded pets from disappearing. The whole thing really sucks as the were bonded, trained and I thought stabled in well enough time. I wish they would have auto stabled.

Even though now I know to log out extra early with tamer, I sure hope my internet never glitches any time around server down.

I got the two-minute warning for the Pacific shard on both accounts at 5:02 AM. I remember the exact time because I looked at the clock with surprise thinking that it couldn't already be server-down.

Thank you Physco, I was wondering about the time, I myself distinctly recall logging out at least 5 minutes before the 5:00 Pac time server down, because I had a phone call just prior to that, and I recall saying that I might as well log out, cuz server will be going down soon.

Guess it was a major server down glitch for me. I thought maybe they had a revert or something yesterday morning.

Guess tamers have to be REALLY careful about logging out early.

That's odd. That should have been plenty of time to autostable. What kind of pets were they?

I would always allow at least 15 minutes to be safe with pets.

OK to clear this up..

The server saves go in anywhere from 18 to 25 minutes before the 2 minute warning of shard mantence. Most times its close to the 2 minute warning, but there are days that its to the max distance from it. Its always a good idea to cut dangerous play 30 minutes before shard down, Stable all pets and chit chat with friends.

Sorry for your loss of pets.

Thank you Petra Fyde and Lady Storm, It is good to know you should have pets logged out at least 15 minutes prior sounds like 30 minutes to be on safest side. The part about the servers "save" can be 25 minutes prior to the 2 minute warning is crazy!!! I mean why would there be a two minute warning after the fact??? That sounds like what must've happened. I was logged out well before (5-10 minutes) I would have normally seen the server down message. And I was shocked to log in and find myself at the ogre lords, which is why I had inquired what time server down message came up. Something should be done about quirks like that.

Interesting assement. I used to play all the time thru server down, and I cannot recall even a single time it saved to a point prior to the Sever down message. It was always after the server down message and just shortly after the 2 minute warning.

With that said, Pets could be handled differntly, or there is always the wierd one off bizare situation.

Sorry for the Pet loss, :(

I too have fond memorys of server wars at the server down.

I have played many servers and have been going on playing at the server 2 minute warning and loged back in to find myself in various locations at server up.
I can atest to this 1 fact after a GM confirmed this many years ago. Server saves go in roughly every 20 to 30 minute intervals all through out the day.
They unfortunatly cant be truly tracked at server down how close they are to the 2 minute warning.
I too have been at the ogre lords fighting and left to what I thought was a fair amount of time from the server down and came back to find me still in the ogre lords lair!
So I know this to be true. The last save before down time determins where you are at server up.

For me the server down message always comes a few minutes AFTER EA stops recording what I have been doing ingame, it always has.

It's kind of handy to try some things right at server down because I know I have a few minutes where whatever I do won't count.

I liked to try enhancing nice weapons to see if they'd break in that window, since I knew my last few minutes of gameplay would be reverted after server up and the weapons would be back.

Pets autostable when your character logs out, IF you have room in the stable and IF they are not packies with an item or items in their packs.

Pacific's server down lasts maybe 20-25 minutes.

I know there are certain pet glitches like leaving an unmounted pet in an idoc when it falls sometimes makes the pet vanish. They said they fixed that but since we had it happen twice before the fix and I still won't leave a pet in an idoc.

The only real reason I can see you lost pets is you had loaded packies you thought you unloaded and stabled just before the server down message, when EA has already stopped recording your actions.

(It seems some people who transfer shards with loaded packies alot like to do it at server down for some reason, I think in an attempt to dupe items?)

Apparently you didn't log back in and check on your pets for hours after server down since it normally takes hours or days for a pet that is taken care of to go wild.

If you like your pets remember to feed them often so they don't get unhappy and go wild.

Hum.... pets did not auto stable, they were not any type of pack animal, I dont do idocs, I put them in stable, (so there was obviously room in the stable) before logging out, had not recieved the 2 minute warning, as I actually logged off earlier than usual that day. Did not log in any time soon after server up, as I had stabled and logged out what I thought was well before server down.

Also spoke to someone else yesterday who did lose a blue beetle because their internet went down. It did not auto stable, as the person was busy putting items on it as the internet went down. They logged back on, and of course no beetle to be found. Yet another one goes "poof" along with the items it was carrying.

Was it Veronwy MsPinky who lost her beetle? Out of curiosity, who do you play?

I do know Miss Pinky, but I have not spoken to her in a couple of weeks or more. Did she lose a beetle too?
