I just stumbled upon a decent sized plot out in the middle of nowhere, right off the road just southeast of Yew. (Pacific Shard, Trammel) The house is Public so feel free to take a gander and all.

I have a decent start, but I am curious on what people think of it so far. In my plans, I intend to eventually make a crafter on my account. I hope to use the top floor for it as well. (3 floored, 17 X 15 sized house I think.) I am hoping to do something rather mystical and cool with the top floor, just not sure how I am going to flow into it at the moment.

I like what I have, but am open to suggestions if people have them!! Here are the pictures. (I am also not anywhere near done. I have 3 more levels to design, so suggestions for those are greatly appreciated as well! I will need a crafting room for Blacksmithing/enchantment/imbuement)

House Name: Black Dragon Inn. South East of Trammel Yew, just past the skeletal graveyard

it's all so very balanced, isn't it? :) while I like the fountain effect in the front, for my taste once would have been sufficient... I would leave the one on the east side, expand the downstairs room on the west side and eliminate the east side staircase

but that's just me, and in looking at your design it would most likely throw you completely off ... :)

Not at all. I still don't know what I am going to do with it all. I kinda went the safe route with the symmetrical design this time. I am playing around with the idea of adding a spiral staircase, or maybe a version of the spiral staircase where it is more like the large entry staircases in mansions.

Here are the current ideas I am going through. Now that I understand the process, I am fairly certain I can recreate a version of these.

The only problem I have is that there is a tower just south of my house, which means anything on that particular corner is mostly hidden.
Sorry about the large pic's, I just pulled them from doing a search on Google Images.

Kerwin, you can certainly duplicate those types of staircases in UO. There's even a tutorial that will help: http://vboards.stratics.com/uo-homes-castles/31922-step-step-spiral-stair-making-101-a.html

Many of the images on that post are missing but the important tutorials are still there.

As for your symmetry, I too am obsessed with making everything symmetrical (I sometimes think I have OCD). In this instance though, I do agree that maybe only one fountain in front would be enough. I would keep the one that's most visible (the left side). I agree that the front of the house could then be extended where the other fountain on the right side is. Also, I'm not so crazy about the choice of stairs in front, play around with the colors a bit more). I also agree that the two staircases are a bit much.

On a positive end I like the hidden area behind the stairs, that could be utilized very creatively. I also like the fountain very much as well as the floor tile choices.

Post more screenshots as you keep going!

squinting at your pics...it certainly LOOKS like you could resize house and move it out from under that tower....tried it?
