I always loved pre-AOS gameplay and was sometimes thinking of starting playing Siege. (closest official shard that might bring back some excitement). I have some questions though that someone can clarify for me:

1. With post AOS FC/FCR how can you even play a mage without jewelry? Every mage has a single blessed piece of jewelry on (let's say 1/3) or we have the "gods" that actually got a hold of an orny? The question is actually, how can you compete with a mage?

2. Clothing blessed deed and 7th anniversary blessed items. Doesn't this defeat the whole "everyone being equal" theory? What does not blessing a high resist item mean (with clothing blessed deed)?

3. Imbuing: How can you even attempt to train it (massive cost) and what is the purpose of the skill? Who would imbue his armor if can lose it the next ten minutes?

4. I would think that Siege is the place for healing warriors - probably with Chivalry? (Cheap template with the assistance of a crafter?).

I want some info from veteran Siege players.

Thanks

Well. Looks like you haven't played in quite some time.

1. There have been some events in which "cursed" clones of the artifacts dropped. They dropped by the hundreds. There are plenty of Orny's and any other artifact you can imagine at a decent cost. Also, there are faction artifacts for even cheaper. You just have to be in a faction to acquire them.

2. The 7th anny blessed items were deleted. Clothing with properties cannot be blessed on Siege. Only thing that can be blessed is regular clothing with no benefit. However, there are a few items that are blessed. For example, an event took place in 2008 that dropped powerful spellbooks. Those spellbooks have mods and are blessed.

3. Imbuing is probably the most powerful and cheap skill to train on Siege. You can make very good armor for rather cheap. Training is quite possibly the easiest thing with ROT (rate over time) skill set. All you need is citrines and a dagger. You gain all the way to legendary this way. Also, the scroll is very cheap and very easy to come by.

4. Healer warriors are viable. Need to run high dex and mana cost items. but with imbuing, those suits are easy to come by now. Archers and Bokuto dexxers are where its at these days.

You can make very nice suits for both mages and warriors without using relic fragments, or any special ingredients, so its no that big of a deal.

For example, my sampire runs +42 stamina, +24 hps, all 70's, then either 6 mana regen, RPD, etc... whatever I feel like, which is very efficient, and cheap.

My tamer I usually just do +42 mana, 100% LRC, 6 MR, 600 Luck, all 70s.

You can also make a lot of very good weapons without relics if you want to bless and wear some artifact armor.

The only real differences for armor is less MR, less LMC, and a difficulty getting DCI and HCI to caps.

You can also loot jewelry with mods at or near what you want (I loot DCI/HCI jewels 10+ for example) then imbue them to suit your needs.

Usually you don't run with the same stats as people on a prodo shard, but since most people don't its not a big deal, and those who run with million dollar suits have the advantage for the risk they run, which is how it should be.

I would think that Siege is the place for healing warriors - probably with Chivalry? (Cheap template with the assistance of a crafter?).
I think its probably pretty similar to regular shards, the templates just usually run at a slightly lower capacity.

Lotta tamers, Lotta sampires etc...

Not entirely true, actually. You can bless cloth hats. Not entirely useful as you can for a few hundred gold make a much better hat than the blessed one. (since the blessed one can't have any properties outside the resists) But I keep a blessed jesters hat on myself anyways for looks. (I quite often don't wear armor and this lets me keep my look even after deaths, and looks are far more important than armor properties!)

Oh, and since EA devs are horrid coders and can't figure out how to code this logic in:

Use.ClothingBlessDeed
If Target.Name = "Gypsy Headdress"
Then Target.Invalid
Else
Target.Valid

You'll get banned for using a CBD on a gypsy headdress (pure resists)

**** EA.
