..unless you are not loyal to the Ophidians.
Here's why!
Here's why!

You should have been doing it for fun, thats kind of the point, not for super 1337 stuff. If you weren't having a good time you shouldn't have been doing it. And if you were having a good time then there really isn't a problem. I had little time to much so I'm glad I can get the potions. What in the hell is this crap!
So the people that spent all the time at the event collecting to turn in for potions are screwed now?
Who came up with this idea? What would be the point of participation in the event anymore?
Hey work hours for potions during event or buy them for cheap from NPC after the event? Which one would you freaking pick if they let you know ahead of time?
Mother F&#$er, F*&ing Dev (This is the first time I ever used these type of language in UHall) I spent way too many hours to try to get the ring that never dropped and now my potions are easily obtainable.
I AM SO F*&ing MAD!
I play the game for entertainment and have fun stuff to play with. I spent my free time so I can use said items later. You should have been doing it for fun, thats kind of the point, not for super 1337 stuff. Ya maybe the fun for him was putting in the work to get the items. If you make it so people can simply buy something that someone else worked for of course they are going to be upset. Don't be a troll. You should have been doing it for fun, thats kind of the point, not for super 1337 stuff. If you weren't having a good time you shouldn't have been doing it. People play the game to have fun, People play it to collect items. You can't say what they should have been doing, They can do what they want. You should have been doing it for fun, thats kind of the point, not for super 1337 stuff. You need 2500 loyalty to trade with them right? Go kill Bane over at Spirituality Gate in Ilshenar. This should continue to raise your loyalty to them to them.I have 2011 ophidian loyalty and it say i cannot trade with them due to loyalty. any ideas?
I wouldn't have wanted the potions to be "rare" but seriously there was NO consideration for the people who actually put the time and effort into collecting the blackrock, killing the bane, getting the loyalty and doing the actual quest. If it were going to be "for sale" the dev team should have said so up front so time and effort could have been put into something else.I'm a little disappointed they didn't turn out to be rares, but that's the nature of the game, not everything does or stays such. I went to check on the bane camp right next to Spirituality Ilshenar, and you can get the Bane Dragon food for 20 Power Wotsits still, so the stew is largely worthless too. Oh well. I shan't be killing Meer for them, as I like the benefits of positive karma... I'll just wander off to Castle Blackthorn instead!
The devs quite often make certain quest items or artifacts more readily obtainable after a period of time. (7th AE artifacts, Treasures of Tokuno, Soulstones, etc.)There has never been instance where items from event could be purchased from npc after the particular phase of ongoing world event.
Its NOT ABOUT GOLD! or VALUE!there meant to be used not collected.
you can still collect them.
Oh wait your talking about gold value not collecting.
People here is a tip. Buy them now. Sell them for 10k each later.
It will add up and then go buy something rare. Everyone wins.
Why would you think any of these complaints had to do with gold value?there meant to be used not collected.

You right, they've actually gone even further: soulstone fragments were given out for free!
Anyway, not giving this issue any more consideration, you're clearly just interested in venting.
Let me use myself and NBG as examples. You right, they've actually gone even further: soulstone fragments were given out for free!

If you know me, you would know that I rarely sell stuff. When I do sell items, I sell to friends for really low price or its free (I have stated this already in previous responses.NBG you seem way too upset over this. What was the endgame you had in mind? Farm up these in epic proportions, and then assume they would be gone for good once this part of the event was done, then sell at an absurd price to make a ridiculous profit?
First off NBG rarely if ever sells anything , He is mad because like Flutter said he wasted weeks doing the event to collect the potions for guild/friend for when the event happen to stop.. So while we were all out spawning etc making new chars , and other fun stuff he spent that time now for nothing gathering and solo the spawn to get the potions. for everyone now to be able to buy ..NBG you seem way too upset over this. What was the endgame you had in mind? Farm up these in epic proportions, and then assume they would be gone for good once this part of the event was done, then sell at an absurd price to make a ridiculous profit?
It wasn't intended to be a reference, so much as an example that the same sort of thing has happened elsewhere, and people have been pissed off whenever it happens.Doom artifact and ToT still require you to killing and work at getting the items so I am sorry to say this but its not a proper reference.
This is closer to exploit/duping (Heck I think its even easier)
Even dupers and exploiter has to work at getting their item
In this case, you just get the rep then go buy from npc like resources.
So when you compare Doom and ToT to this new NPC selling BS, does any NPC selling doom arties or ToT when they incrased drop rate/re release an event?
Like I've said the current dev team has no clue about collecting, marketing,or even feeling good about time putting in a game. those that knew how UO works like DRACONI are gone. These new Dev are pure fps PVP and maybe mixed with pure RP players that came from making games like unreal tournament and doom.NBG you seem way too upset over this. Nah he's not like that. But who wouldn't have gone and done other things had they known you'd just be able to buy the crap in the next publish?NBG you seem way too upset over this. What was the endgame you had in mind? Farm up these in epic proportions, and then assume they would be gone for good once this part of the event was done, then sell at an absurd price to make a ridiculous profit?
So you are saying if you spent weeks farming them and turned them in for potions, you would be more upset? To be fair, the crystalline blackrock wasn't exactly hard to get. And neither are power crystals.
I would guess they're a similar drop rate, perhaps dropping more frequently than crystalline blackrock did. This would compensate for the necessary consumption of the stew by bane dragons at *least* twice (as opposed to the potions, which definately aren't necessary).
I would only be annoyed in so much as I wasted about 30 crystalline blackrock on the potions. But I did manage to save a fair bit of it and, like I said, it wasn't as though it was particularly challenging to get when it was available.

Funny you mention that! I'm getting A LOT of that Abyssal cloth from the new treasure chests - Also making C Blackrock less valuable imo.it's used for mage armour (cloth)

For some of the players out there, it was exceptionally easy to get. Especially those of you on Europa who spammed earthquake and script-looted all the blackrock at the peak of interest, ensuring virtually no one else got any during each run through of the event. Quite frankly, I think the dev's screwed up on the initial design, and didn't realise just how greedy and selfish some players would be, and I'm glad they've hit the big red reset button since... if there hadn't been a different way to get Stew and Potions after the fact, only the obsessives and cheaters would have stood a chance to own any. However...To be fair..it really is beside the point on how easy the blackrock is to get..
... that is completely your own fault. Cal has hinted numerous times here on Stratics that there would be a way to feed the Bane Dragons after the event ends. If you're really that serious about debating effort put in, why haven't you put the effort in to locate information about event structures. And before you say "That's on stratics, why should I read every post on Stratics?!"...Basically if i had known the Devs were gonna come up with this bullsh!t then i would have saved the crystalline blackrock for imbuing purposes instead of using it to get potions.
You mean you haven't even bothered to go as far as Ilshenar Sacrifice gate and look at the new bane camp? As others have pointed out, 20 Power Crystals will get you a new stew... and you can get them without even killing a Meer and taking the Karma hit, by killing Blackthorn/Exodus minions instead. They'll drop every time on some of those too...Another thing I'd like to know but im not holding my breath out for any reply from Devs is - is the stew obtainable through the Bane guys to purchase like the potions are???? And IF NOT..WHY? Thats kinda not fair imo to make one this way and not the other..when the other is used way more and needed way more than the potions.
How could it be a gold sink? thats not realistic price on the vender. In order for it to be a gold sink those potions need to be worth over 100k-500k each on the vender. It's like saying Selling dul runic on a vender for 1 gold is a gold sink. When almost every player can get over 1k a sec in places like the trog caves. They never have a think tank on the effect of what they do. They could of added a 0 on all the pots in game then next server up added in the NPC. Really falls back to them having no clue over a 5 min check if the code works. Then on to the next project to hear more cries they do nothing. It is a gold sink and I like it for that reason. Now DEVs put dull copper on the NPCs already.
Have to check back threads to see if anyone was upset for buying a Monk's Robe for a few hundred K at the bank and not for a few gold from the NPC. What makes UO great that it follows the "life is not fair" rule set.

Seeing how the patch JUST came out for this No.. we didn't go check the other spawn yet.You mean you haven't even bothered to go as far as Ilshenar Sacrifice gate and look at the new bane camp? Common sense eh.? Well common sense tells me that if they are going to release a reward which you must earn.. they should keep it that way.. not turn it around later on and say hey for 1.5k you can buy these! That's the reason Big Wang and I were annoyed.. because we wasted imbuing materials and time only to find out we could of just waited and saved our ingredients... but guess we don't have common sense. rolleyes: Some of us don't have 24 hrs a day to farm blackrock.. and before this event and tmap changes the rock wasnt that easy to come by..possibly now thanks to the changes in the tmaps it will be a bit easier. And a little common sense should have indicated the Recruiter rewards weren't going to be limited editions anyway; the Blackrock stew of course is the only known food of one of the best 3 slot pets in game, which meant the pets would all eventually starve to death if it didn't constantly spawn, and the potions in turn are PvP expendables.
I never once stated i was debating anything so where you got this notion is beyond me..maybe pulled it outta your wittle magic hat. As far as another way to obtain the stew..i was aware of that upon the first announcement of it..but not until the publish was it known the power crystals could also get the stew. Have i tried this yet? no..read on and you'll figure out why i've been to busy to test this yet.... that is completely your own fault. Not yet I haven't investigated every new thing that has come out with the publish..I've been too busy getting all the cool new drops from treasure chestYou mean you haven't even bothered to go as far as Ilshenar Sacrifice gate and look at the new bane camp?
