Guide: How to "do" the new event (pics included)

So, essentially, if you didn't have the opportunity to partake in this event before the patch, it is now pointless to do anything but kill bane?

Is this correct?

Or is there still a way to gain faction with the Bane and get some sort of reward for it? I may have simply misunderstood what was stated.

I would hope the Meer will be killable and you can take sides, But the Meer camp doesn't seem to be anywhere and when you double click the Bane flag nothing happens.

The system just isn't working.

The meer can be found Here (nearest gate - compassion) and Here (nearest gate - Sacrifice).

Lakeshire is the closest Meer "camp" to the bane - you just run north-ish and west-ish.

Those Meer though, Do they give points and have a flag system? I looked briefly and didn't see any sort of camp site.

No you can still go kill the Ophidians I just tried it and got 3 points per kill no flags tho and be careful they are packed by there fort go in from the bane side and lore them out.

Also the bane side will take any power crystal old/or new I only had 17 old need 3 more to see if you get same stew or not...

It seems killing the bane has no known reward at the moment, except their death. However, if you have herding, this is always a fun way to get rid of the bane

Thinking of all the cool old events in the past from Draconi and past teams, these recent events don't seem to cut the mustard.

The Bane event was cool and unique in it self, however before it we had two or three events that use this reward chest system.

And now to make the same darn thing again, but with Meer, from what i've seen there is really not alot of difference.

I really appriciate the old events that we've had now. (Magnicia was the pinnicle).

I really like the system, But the Bane/Ophidian artifact rewards are awful. If they made it actually worth while, I may enjoy it.

I kinda like that they keep some of these events going so long.. I haven't hardly had any free time the last 3 or so months to log in for longer than 10 minutes, so for me, the longer they keep something running the better!

I prefer the Bane event to the Magincia event. I don't get yelled at for fighting the bad guys in this one.

• Crystalline blackrock is no longer used (as of yet).
  
• Meer in the two parts of Ilshenar give power crystals and loyalty when killed
  
• The flag is likely decorative rather than functional.
  
• This part of the story seems simply to be about killing meer and giving the Bane power crystals (or, increasing Meer/Bane loyalty). In practice, it is likely a way to increase distribution of blackrock stew and the potions.

Moving the Bane to Ilshenar and having them attack the Meer without first posting fiction = Fail.

Having the Meer not have a camp of their own, or even a response of ANY kind to the Bane = Fail.



This is why recycling events one after the other is a bad idea and just makes the Dev Team look inept.

It's weird for sure. Possibility they're waiting for EM events to activate it.

Possibly. God knows, if the EMs have the control here then we are in for an interesting ride.

If not, the lack of promptly posted fiction is inexcusable. And there have been enough F-ups with everything surrounding Pub 67 as it is.

When they moved the bane to ilsh, the wolves can become paragons, hitting for 60pts with all 70's. One killed 2 unicorns, 1 para pixie,and about 3-4 regular ones in barely a minute and retained a full health bar, must be something else they 'forgot'.

If you don't mind losing karma you can kill the meer and gain loyality points to the bane at their normal whereabouts.

The meer warriors and captains and eternals all carry a power crystal. I have yet to see one upon the corpse of a meer mage.

Turning in 20 power crystals to the bane quest guy gets you one blackrock stew for your dragon.

I did this last night. There are no sides advancing either way but killing the meer gets you the crystals none the less.

This also sorta confirms for me that blackrock stew does not contain blackrock.

I think the Bane simply wants blackrock and now power crystals for whatever it is they're planning.

In the latest event arc the Demon Scouts invaded Brit and someone stole the Crystal from the throne room. The Black rock seemed to be used to fuel the latest new creation "BLACK ROCK GOLEMS" To make these golems it seems they used the mass amounts of Crystalline Black Rock and the freshly harvested power crystals. These are extremely powerful.

Out of curiosity, since it is not possible to Gate a herded creature, how much walking did you have to do to actually herd all those ki-rins to the Bane Camp ???

It is not possible to get any rewards for killing the Bane at the moment. It appears to be a static spawn.

There is no reward chest in the Bane camp, and the Meer still lack a camp at all. If it wasn't for the appearance of Dasha in Cal's story, it would be as if the Meer didn't know the Bane existed. rolleyes:

I have over 2,000 loyalty to the Meer and nothing to do with it. If this arc is going to continue, could it see a bit of progress now? I'm really hoping this isn't just 'the way to get blackrock stew'...

BTW: The Bane camp is buggy and laggy. Please make it a part of the map file so the mobs see the correct objects as impassable.

No, it's very close. I've actually herded an army of Ki Rin to the Humility Champ spawn once. Herding the armies of Lord Oaks to the bane is like rolling out of bed by comparison.

The only tedious part is getting the Ki-rins to spawn, after that you just round them up and charge towards the bane.

Its a pity ethereal warriors can't be herded, or I'd make a character called Vultan

No. Go to the Shrine of Spirituality in Ilshenar, and either take the Bane's quest, or start killing them.

I'm pretty sure they are going to be the bad guys, or at least working for the bad guys, so I'd vote for start killing them.

If you want to take their quest, I think you'll have to kill Meer to get loyalty, not sure if killing Ophidians still works.

Killing Meer is not something I'd recommend.

Sad that U-Hall has gotten so out of hand, with a combination of out-of-control aggression from some players and needlessly stupid questions from others (or in some cases some of the same players) that you feel you need to ask for "leniency" for asking some pretty reasonable questions.

EDIT: Also you may want to start attending your shard's EM events, especially if you're on Great Lakes.

thank you I will try to start that event today. And i have done some of the events over on LS and was doing the hunts every night until my place of employment thought it was better for me to work more for them than to sit at home playing UO... LOL. So thank you again..
