Am I the only one who thinks it is ridiculous that these two low level spells can be spammed for a damn near constant damage stream? If this is considered kosher, then I suggest magic arrow be allowed to do damage every time it is cast as well.
Heh, it took awhile for someone to complain about this oneAm I the only one who thinks it is ridiculous that these two low level spells can be spammed for a damn near constant damage stream? I agree, but Bolt has a fairly specific sound. If you can't tell what someone has casted on you based on the sound/effect/graphics, then you need to pay more attention imo. It seems like Mythic has fixed damage numbers, so it be nice if they fixed everything else as well. Still, I don't know why anyone would PvP w/o an open journal and a speaker unless they have a tiny monitor or some weird setup issue, which, again, if you're going to PvP, and you're going to try to do it cheap, well, you'll be at a disadvantage.ALSO :CAN WE MAKE MYSTIC SPELLS APPEAR ABOVE PLAYER'S HEADS AND NOT HIDDEN IN SYSTEM MESSAGES. I do really feel like i'm cheating when player's can't see me cast.
LOL... funny... not even the OP and wants to set posting rules for UHall....
P.S please do not respond to this thread if you don't play in fel.
My mistake, meant to say please do not respond to my post if you don't play in fel,LOL... funny... not even the OP and wants to set posting rules for UHall.![]()
ya, by exploiting a loop hole.... I am just suggesting using the same sort of delay for magic arrow/nether bolt as is used for chain magic arrow currently.you can make it so it does.
I have not used sound in uo for years. I get caught off guard by death strike now and again. If I know the person I am fighting uses it, it's not too hard to pay attention to the message on your screen.I agree, but Bolt has a fairly specific sound. I would be agreed with this.ya, by exploiting a loop hole.... I am just suggesting using the same sort of delay for magic arrow/nether bolt as is used for chain magic arrow currently.
A great mage is not about killing someone with 4thand lower level spells. Its about timing, its about giving yourself time to load up on big spells if needed. Its about being able to keep someones poison ticking long enough to be able to kill the with and exp/invis. Im not a great mage btw...i would put myself as just above average at best. What is a great mage, though? A great mage to me is someone who can kill you without using 5th circle or higher. A great mage should probably be able to move away or forward as well, hit with wep if they go forward, or regroup to counter if they go back. A well placed weaken should break the cycle.
The only thing I would suggest, if enough people think the Arrow/Bolt combo is an issue in Mage vs Mage PvP, is to make it so 120 magic resist has a chance of completely resisting all 1st and 2nd circle damage spells. I mean, a great mage can do a heck of a lot of damage with arrow/harm wep hit (esp. w/ hit spell proc via Myst.) as well ;p. Not sure it's anything new...
Ahh okay ... well if you're of the opinion that, I assume, every secondary casting skill introduced since necromancy has devolved pure mage PvP, then I would agree there. I'm not claiming to be the best mage either, I just value a user's ability to micromanage the faster spells, because to do it legit is tough. I think it is more challenging to kill someone without the use of exp/eb/fs ... and without spell plague or spell trigger, heh.Any more randomisation of mages will not make more great mages, it will make mediocre mages like myself survive / win more. I love casting focuse for example as it helps me greatly. A Great mage will argue it actually makes it harder.
What If I am deaf? This is a big oversight on accessibility to handicapped. Lots of spells and effects and timers are aural cues only, leaving the deaf out of the picture.I agree, but Bolt has a fairly specific sound. So does that mean if some players have lost an arm they should halve the amount of spells and change the movement from the mouse so you can play with one arm? What If I am deaf? Giving away trade PvP secrets to the trammies Undies? Shame on you sir. You're grounded. This is a problem for some? Carry magic arrow scrolls and make a seperate key to use the scrolls next to your main magic arrow key...problem solved. You will now have the same ability to spam magic arrow (MA, MA scroll, MA, MA scroll, ect) in the same manner as magic arrow nether bolt. Plus it doesn't cost you an additional 240 skill!
If you're deaf, you can clearly see the nether bolt graphic, which is still distinctive, as well as the damage numbers, hopefully. Don't get me wrong, EA needs to make sure damage numbers and spell power words appear, but there's no middle ground really; the majority of games do not actively consider such handicaps as being deaf, and you would be at a disadvantage, in my opinion, unless EA implemented some sort of vibration technology, or you could use a subwoofer to get some feedback (not trying to be funny, just considering what technologies could improve gameplay if you can't hear). What If I am deaf?
